Alright, like I said, it's my first Transformer custom!

I love the Animated Universe, and wanted to start with an easy repaint...but that didn't pan out. I had to resculpt Cliff's head/face on the Bumblebee head, but other than that, it's just a simple repaint of Bumblebee. Quite a learning experience!

great job, that head sculpt is killer & the paint too. have you considered doing the foot mod to get rid of the rabbit feet? some ppl like them, but I think the mold looks much better w/out them.

Thank you. It's my first TF custom, not first custom.

The head was made with Bumblebee's Dremeled down noggin and then rebuilt using Magic Sculpt. I used Tamiya Acrylic spray paints, with a little Vallejo brand acrylic paint for the brushed on details.

Thank you! I don't mind the feet as they are, so I'll leave him be. I just noticed today that the Japanese jetpack Bumblebee is seemingly a whole new mold, and the feet look great in comparison. He's also a bit shorter. If they drop in price a bit, I plan on picking up a few of them for better custom fodder.

That's the $64,000 question. Let's just say I assume he does.  I just put the last touches on him today. I want to wait a few days for all the paints to be completely dried and set before I transform him. I know he transformed fine before I disassembled him and painted him. However, I did make several errors painting, allowing paint into little holes that need to turn and twist for joints, so he's VERY stiff (that's what SHE SAID). Like I mentioned, I learned a lot from this little bugger, and I'm close to finished with an Animated Wasp, who really benefitted from my newfound knowledge (sorry, Cliff!).

    Thanks guys!

really fantastic work. The choice in flat gray works way better at conveying the animated quality of the characters than the silver used on bee's face.

I like it when customs actually look like something you can find in a store like this. Maybe adding those panel lines onto him like Bumblebee has on his crotch and thighs would add a nice touch.

Thanks, I felt if I used silver instead of the flat grey, he'd look a bit "too" shiny, since I chose a metallic red paint for his coating. I think they offset each other nicely, too. I have a few of the Japanese TFAs with their metallic paint, so he fits right in with them in that regard.

Thanks! I agree, I like my customs to fit right in with what I'd buy in a store (for better or worse, heh heh). IIRC, I was using the package control art for the TFA Activators Cliffjumper (from the Allspark Almanac II) and he didn't have any lines like Bumblebee in that particular pic. I could be wrong, I'll have to check on that. He was in alt mode as an Earth car, so maybe he lost his underwear lines along the way? :D

Thanks man, I believe I tried it once and didn't really like it, but I'll check it out once more to see if anything's changed.

nice CJ. but the chin could be a tad too bulky for the transformation.
    correct me if i'm wrong.
the feet mod is a worthy tip.
    here's a ref pix.
