I'm sure most fans have some favorite characters who they'll buy every version of even if some of the figures are janked beyond redemption. Who are those characters for you and do you have any figures of them that are just crap?

For me it's:
Megatron/Galvatron
All of the Coneheads
Cliffjumper
All of the original Triple Changers
Cheetor
Rattrap
Dinobot
Grimlock
Swindle

The only crap versions I can think of right now are the BW Grimlock repaint of Dinobot and Universe Cheetor. Ugh.

Oh! And movie Swindle.

 

There are just so many to list.

When you brake it down though, it's hard to see past the iconic characters as being my favorite.

 

Must Buy characters?

Any Movie-verse Barricade toy ever released.  

Of the Barricade figures I have, none of them are crappy. I love 'em.

 

Uhh ... any new Wheeljack, I suppose.

I don't really have character I need, I just collect what ever looks cool.

 

I'm a big Thrust fan so I'll grab most versions that look like or are similar colour schemes to his G1 counterpart. That being said, I still only buy toys that I really like, so if it's a really crappy version, I wont bother. Soundwave is another that I love and have quite a few versions of, again though, I dont bother with ones that dont appeal to me, for example Titanium Soundwave.

 

The one and only that's usually a must buy for me (unless is really really bad...im looking at you movie legend class figure) is Starscream.

 

Jazz. Love his character.

 

Blitzwing, Bludgeon, Thunderwing, Octopunch, the Seacons, Sixshot, Darkwing and Dreadwind.

 

I buy Primes and Megatrons from every line. Not every single Prime and Megatron mold, but at least one of each of the character from each line.

Also I have a soft spot for Ratchets.

And Waspinator.

Bruticus and any Combaticons.

 

The only character that falls into that category for me is Skywarp. And even then, I don't like him enough to put down the money on some of the more expensive versions of the character (BotCon, Alternity).

Probably the worst version of Skywarp I have is the repaint of Cybertron Thundercracker. The figure doesn't hold together at all in robot mode and doesn't have a very 'traditional' Skywarp colour scheme.

 

I'll pass on anything if the toy is horseshit enough.

But I am a Sky-Byte completist.  

 

I would have to say Soundwave and (for the most part) Bumblebee.

 

Ironhide is my must buy character. I try to get every figure of him. Bumblebee is also a character I'm willing to buy multiple versions of.

 

I do this same thing, but with Prime, Megs, Soundwave, and Skywarp.

Pretty much anything with either a Maximal, Predacon, or Vehicon logo on it.

 

Rattrap, Soundwave and Bumblebee, but not quite so much with Bumblebee anymore since they've started releasing so many of him.

 

This, Combaticons are what the Decepticons should be.
