So they sound like every other pop/punk band out there. But I really like the singers voice. I won't buy the album, but I'll grab a few songs on iTunes. Anybody else heard of them?

    Paramore - Misery Business

    Acoustic version:

**Now i'll sit back and wait for all the posts saying they suck**

I live in Austin, home of the music elitists, and it's such a pain to be a music lover of all types while living here. The places I have worked (particularly in the video games field) have nothing but judgemental people who would ridicule my taste (how can you ridicule a love for RUSH), and play and worship some crappy local band with no musical talent who bitch and moan about the environment and Wal-Mart.

I'll give these guys an ear when I get home from work this afternoon.

If you were hoping that would deter people from giving their opinions on this, you failed. That was awful.

I know what you mean. I was an Assistant Manager of a CD store while I was in college. i used to get ridiculed constantly by the music snobs because i actually listened to bands on the radio. I learned to ignore it a long time ago. imagine being a 6"4" 250 pound guy that likes an N'sync song. that was fun! :D

Well it was worth a shot right? Seriously, I expect people to hate it. No skin off my back.

Check. And any of the cheerleaders, preferably in their outfits.

But not if I had to listen to that music while I did it.

Sorry, dude. But I'm glad you dig it--always cool to find new music that really grabs you.

They don't "suck" in my opinion, it's just not what I would normally listen to. Though for something that I don't like, they're pretty good for the type of music that they are doing.

I liked it. I'd have to listen to more tracks to see if that album really grabs me though.

Speaking as a recovering former music snob, there's nothing persay WRONG with them. They're adequate, average, run of the mill pop punk with a stronger than average singer who doesn't sing perpetually flat and nasally, the grevious error that plagues 99% of pop punk bands. She actually sings on pitch. I've wondered for a while when a band like this would hit it big...inoffensive pop punk fronted by a singer who is pretty and a strong pop singer.

On the other hand, there's absolutely nothing that stands out about them to me really. I listened to five of their songs on youtube and I would be hard pressed to remember any of the words or hooks. In fact, the only things I really remember are that all of the videos are over reliant on slow motion of people walking around and closeups of the singer's pouty lips. Also, her voice is a LOT thinner in the acoustic clips. Either she was sick that day, or there's a lot of studio trickery on the album tracks to make her voice sound more powerful than it is in real life, which would negate the band's biggest strength to me.

I wouldn't turn it off if I was listening to the radio, but I wouldn't buy their records either, and I probably won't even remember them tomorrow. On the whole, you could do a LOT worse in this genre, but it's not my cup of tea. There's a lot of other stuff I'd just rather listen to before this.

Very reasonably put. I wish everyone could have the "it's not really for me but I'm not about to call it shit" attitude really. It's cool not to like everything, no one is going to, but you don't have to be a dick about it at all you know

Better than most of the stuff that's out in the mainstream. Not that takes much. Not gonna pull me away from Megadeth and No Connection, though.
