    I'd probably do "Soundwave superior."

Though what I could also do is intersperse audio clips throughout to remind me that it's Soundwave playing all this.

Another question about how the playlist works - how do you sort SD card playlists on your PC?

It'll play them in whatever order they show up in on your PC. So just turn off auto-sort and move them around where you want them.

Alright- I've done a mockup to get an idea of the size.

But I'll ask this anyway: In your opinion, how portable is this? Right now I'm interested in a player that's an improvement over what I've got (an old 128 meg Rio Fuse)

Erm... It's not that portable honestly. It fits in large pockets, but the headphone jack is awkwardly-placed. You're kinda stuck carrying it a lot of the time. Maybe if you had a bag?

Ahh, just -one- AAA for 6 hours. Makes much more sense. :)

I don't suppose the instructions mention anything about NiCad or NiMH batteries? Those are common rechargable AAAs, and I'd like to use those over disposables if possible.

This seems to be more of a "functional" Soundwave vs a primary mp3 player. Which is fine by me.

Oh, even more awesome then! But after hearing about the possible problems with batteries I might wait to see how other US peeps are affected. If I buy this I intend to use it as an MP3 player so I'd want it to not die on me randomly or something.

And I'm not a fan of shuffle because I prefer listening to albums beginning to end >_>

Got another thing I'm wondering about...

Assuming one just drags MP3s into the miniSD card, how does the player discern the order in which to play the tracks? Is it alphabetical, or chronological (in terms of when the MP3s were put into the player)?

Also wondering if it's just "throw them all on the card" or if certain folder hierarchies are wanted.

    ^ See this.

As for batteries... I don't have them out to check, but the Instructions are about a page - they say notoriously little of anything. As Gog said - this really does seem more like a functional Classics Soundwave than an MP3 Player.

I dunno if US current will cause problems or not... I don't really think it would, but I'm no expert...

Just got this sucker too and yes, he's definitely not gonna replace a iPOD anytime soon.

But regardless, he's so cool and fun in a geeky-way, it's awesome XD. It's especially hilarious if you have Rumble and Frenzy hanging off your ears in robot mode.

"THE ROBOTS, THEY'RE TELLING ME TO DO EVIL THINGS!!!"

A very nifty novelty item, but for fans only.

Yes, all AAAs should be 1.5V. Now, the number of milliwatt-hours each battery can hold will differ, but that just differs by brand and "level" (Energizer vs Energizer Max, for instance), not by country, and only affects overall playback time, not current.

Durr, I win at reading. >.< Thanks.

No worries about the batteries, I was mostly wondering if it had one of those "Do not use NiCads or THIS DEVICE WILL IMPLODE!!!" warnings I've seen here and there. :D

Lol. Every time someone living in Asia shows up around here, I get a little spike of "Yes! Someone else to go see the movie with us!" But you're not in Japan, are you?

Haha unfortunately, no. I live in Singapore, though I'm in Boston, MA most of the time for college.

    I want the set soooo bad ;_;

Probably won't be able to pick it up for a while though, think it will be available (i.e. in stock) online for a while still?

Big pass, glad I waited to hear some more info on him. Not impressed at all, so not worth $100+.

Although I will say, it would be cool if a tiny speaker could be placed in his shoulder cannon, since it plugs in there already. If it's ever released here, I'll think about grabbing one and modding in a real MP3 player, and put the screen in the chest.

I'd love to see someone try that with this one, but I doubt people will be willing to cut up their new $100+ Soundwave.
