    Have you heard the instrumental version of their album Absolution? I almost like it better than the regular version. Almost. And Black Holes and Revelations is even more awesome than both versions of Absolution combined.

    ...NEVER compare Muse to New Order. They're not even on the same PLANET quality wise.
    *loves New Order, doesn't love Muse*

    i will rephrase my comparison for the musically sensitive.

    muse evokes the rawness of radioheads early electronica effort, the pop sensibilities of NO and the soundscapes of brian eno.

    in other news, KA is a pretentious twat.

    I will admit that more recent Muse is far more acceptable than earlier Muse; the always used to remind me of what bad rock opera might sound like if the band was being electrocuted at the time.

    I do enjoy that one song they have..."Running out of Time" or whatever it's called.

    Good sound, I may like more if I heard it.

    Need to check this out. I have most of New Order & Radioheads albums.

    Always thought New Order and Daft Punk were ahead of their time in the mixing room, their sound quality still has more pump than alot of the new stuff

    I really didn't like their last album. I think its their weakest. Personally, I like Origin of Symmetry the best. As to how I would describe them, I'd say they sound like what Rage Against The Machine would be if fronted by Jeff Buckley

    I am a big fan of New Order and if the Muse is close to them quality-wise then I may check them out.

    And KA did you get my PM? :p

    I have great love for the Absolution album.

    Granted I never really think in terms of "this band is like this band" so much as "this song was cool I'll see what else they do". :D

    I really enjoy Muse. For me, they're kinda on the same plane as The Mars Volta in terms of enjoyability; turn them on, let the album play start to finish, don't interrupt the flow. Absolution is a fantastic album.

    Muse = Quality

    I also hear a bit of Queen in their sound. Might just be me though...

    Muse and Mars Volta-- all the way. Knights of Cydonia is my current favorite song at the moment (along with Dashboard by Modest Mouse). Its about time I got me some new music.
