The Mummy films aren't on my favourites list, but they were rollicking good fun. Not sure why they require a reboot, here.

I don't care. The mummy movie genre sucks anyway.

It hasn't even been two decades and they want to reboot it? Wow.

Then again It won't be directed by the dude who ruined GI Joe ROC.

Mummies are the only zombies I can really get behind. I love the previous three movies. The only way this will really work for me, is if they make this one a seriously creepy horror movie. (as long as it's not about a group of teenagers slowly getting picked off...)

Seeing as it's one of the only things Universal has these days (they won't be making any Hulk movies anytime soon, Jurassic Park is a maybe, they've run Fast and the Furious into the ground, and now they're doing the useless Bourne movie), I'm not surprised.

I really enjoyed the first one, but it quickly went downhill from there.

I loved the first two, not so much the third, due to Rachel Weisz's absence, and the Alex character looking way too old, among other things. But it had its moments.

Don't really see the need to reboot the franchise, though.

Yeah, the first 2 were at least worth it, they were good. I tried watching part 3, as well as Scorpion King, and just couldn't get into it.

    I don't get why there's a need for it.

Wasn't the 1999 Mummy flick's bascially a reimagneing of the original 1932 horror film anyway? Yes the third film was meh but there's no real need to rebbot it if they can make a 4th film that's better. It worked before with some films.

I wish they would instead make a new version of the Creature from thr Black Lagoon movie. Now that would be a welcome change. :)

+1 to the creature from the Black Lagoon. A remake of that would be AWESOME!
