Awesome. That design looks like it would fit in Transformers: Prime so well. Please along with this and Trailbreaker make it a toy Hasbro.

Still uses a general art style that does not remotely belong on anything to do with Transformers but at least it's recognisable as Siren which is more than you can often say where you have to play the "guess the Autobot" game.

As I always say with IDW art It's moderately OK for what it is but whatever it is -that thing is not a Transformer.

I don't know, that seems to be a fusion of the Prime style with some additional detail work. Looks very nice to me. Bit different from the traditional yes, but it's very much a Transformer in my book.

He mentions that Siren is on the cover to issue #2. I know we've seen the cover of #3. But I don't tenner seeing issue #2's cover. Hmm

Everyone knows if it does not look like a House Brick with fists then it's not a Transformer

So, how many months will it take for some third party to make this toy? Does Milne just send them the designs directly these days?

Milne won me over in issue 22 once they got Lafuente to colour his work. The two of them work brilliantly together.

That's a great design. Definite Prime influences and unmistakably Milne in design, but clearly Siren.

On IDW artists, I'm surprised that given the disparity between his work and Roche's I don't have a problem with the lack of consistency, but good art is good art, and both of them have matured into great visual storytellers.

It's better than Roche's stuff. None of his stuff looks like TFs. I can't see a non transformers fan even being interested in that book with his art.

Good God..please be a cybertronian design.

Too futuristic for a Classic styled Siren.

Looks like something from A/E/C mixed with Prime, animated, and the movie.

    Not to my liking.

To be honest...when I saw the thumbnail from the front page I IMMEDIATELY though Soundwave's satelite and Mercedes aesthetic from the movie had meshed together.

It was only after looking further that I realized it was a poor recreation of G1 Siren...one of my favorite Headmasters as a kid.

Its a nice design for what it is I guess, but it doesn't "do" much for me as a Transformers fan. I guess the movie aesthetic is gradually filtering into the other lines and they'll al be ugly as sin in the end.

I like it. Nothing amazing, but it is a cool design and I immediately knew who it was. I can see why some wouldn't like the combination of Prime and WFC elements but I think it works. :)

It's a Cybertronian design. Siren has never been to Earth and TFs are no longer on the planet.

Oddly, I didn't see Soundwave in this, like some. The only reason I didn't see it as Siren right away is because I'm not really familiar with the character. When someone said headmaster it suddenly clicked and now, to be honest, it looks like a modern redesign of Siren to me.

At this point, I don't really think the argument that a Transformer can only be one specific aesthetic really works anymore. If it ever really did.

Post Beast wars, Beast Machines, TFA and the Film trilogy, I think it's safe to say that Transformers, as a franchise, has many different visual forms.

I would do some gross stuff for Milne's designs to get toys, especially Siren and Trailbreaker.

The cover to issue #2 was revealed about two months ago at the following interview over at CBR:

Barber & Roberts Plot the Future of IDW's Transformers Titles - Comic Book Resources

On the cover, an enraged Rodimus stands over the bodies of Siren, Rollout, Tracks, and two more bots I'm having a hard time identifying. One of them has a color scheme similar to that of Trailbreaker, but his design doesn't match the on we've seen on the cover of #3, and the other one appears to have a yellow body, so, I dunno, maybe it's Tigertrack?

As for this new design for Siren, I personally don't care for how much it seems influenced by the TF: Prime aesthetic, but heck, I'll take that any day over a movie-verse influence!
