MTMTE Arachnicons- updated 18Nov09- Crunch the Wind Scorpion and Parasite the Tick

Here are some MTMTE style profiles for some fan characters of mine....kind of Insecticons, but with an extra pair of legs!!!

Crackleback is a crazy scorpion, Huntsman a model soldier, er Huntsman Spider (couldn't think of a better name!) and Spindle is a scientific Funnelweb spider.

I'm currently working on two others, a paranoid bird-eating spider called Hazmat and a psycopath trapdoor spider called Undercut. I'll post their pics here when I finish them (probably tomorrow or Monday)- DONE THEM!!!

Also included a Wind Scorpion Arachnicon named Crunchand a Tick named Parasite. A Whip Scorpion named Livewire are to follow in the next few days. DONE THEM!!!

I've put them here in '2D artwork', even though they include renders of 3D models......If the mods see fit to move them, then so be it.................2.5D artwork???

really cool. When I was just skimming the thumbnails before reading about them, I thought Huntsman was going to be a tick, which really grossed me out. Kudos on that.

Kudos on building a model that doesn't look like its supposed to??? I'll take that!!!:lol

I know what you mean though....A real huntsman would have much longer legs....but that would mean that his bot mode would be able to tie his shoelaces without bending down. This version is a comprimise.

I dig the the sub-group name and well the names of the characters. I think Injectus or Fangor would be a cool name for Huntsman, but hey their your creations and well it works. So don't change the name of Huntsman, it fits him to a tee.

    Re: the Tick......
I think they could use a sniper......Parasight??? He'd be able to absorb other mechs energies to charge his rifle. I'll see how it goes with Hazmat and Undercut......I didn't do much on them yesterday as it was an unplanned 'pub day'

Ok, that settles it.....the roster grows ever more.......

Parasite, Tick, Assassin/Sniper. (a little guy with Bombshell-like cerebro shells that he uses to drain energy from other mechs to boost his sniper rifle's power. Of course I'll have to give him a massive chin.)

????, Whip Scorpion, Electrical Warfare. (The 'whips' would be charged with electricity and he'd have chainsaws on his wrists in bot mode.)

????, Wind Scorpion, ???? (will have to do further research before I nail down a transformation process, so nothing leaps out powers-wise just yet.)

anyone got any ideas for names for these last two?

After I've done with the Arachnicons i'll continue the creepy-crawly theme and do my new Insecticons......
    Antimatter, Jackjumper Ant, Commando
    Backwater, Pondskater, Amphibious Assault
    Blight, Hissing Cockroach, Biological Warfare
    Blockhead, Shield Beetle, Warrior
    Buzzkill, Cicada, Audio Assault
    Char-Grin, Bombardier Beetle, Flamethrower
    Cudgel, Stick Insect, Gunner
    Hellbore, Pillbug, Subterranean Warfare
    Honeytrap, Bee, Fueller (fembot)
    Killjoy, Assassin Bug, Beserker
    Munch, Termite, Engineer
    Pinch Hit, Earwig, Shocktrooper
    Quickstep, Centipede, Gunner
    Silverstar, Praying Mantis, Assassin (fembot)
    Skirmish, Dragonfly, Perimeter Patrol
    Stench, Dung Beetle, Transportation
    Syringe, Flea, Medic

Sod it, while I'm here........anyone got any ideas for even more?????

Awesome work on the Arachnicons, I love spiders (sorta)
I've got some fan-Insecticons you could use if you need ideas...

    Sandtrap, antlion larvae, ambush specialist
    Asila, robber fly, hunter
    Redwing, dragonfly, aerial attack (fembot)
    Bluebolt, dragonfly, aerial commander
    Nightblade, praying mantis, covert ops.
    Red-Sword, " " " ", warrior (fembot)

    These OK??

(If you want descriptions, I can provide them)

I think the word Elytra sounds cool as a name for a beetle fembot. "Elytra" are the wing covers on a bettle.

Chelicera is also a cool name, but for a spider fembot. Chelicerae are spider fangs.

Maybe start a group (later), called the Crustaceacons? Crab, shrimp, lobster, prawn, etc.

Whilst looking up pics of the wind scorpion I came across a picture of a tarantulahawk wasp, which looks bloody terrifying, so I'll be doing one of those, as well as a Goliath beetle and a firefly. Not sure why, but I imagine the firefly speaking with a spanish accent!!
