This thing may be the first true "perfect" masterpiece figure. To date, FT Stomp has gotten the closest to utter perfection (in my opinion)...but this Optimus looks like it could be the one to transcend all other MPs. I cannot wait for this release.

Agreed. The V3 Prime will sell because it has TT's name on it. I, however, will possibly get both this and the Transform Element Primes and never touch the gappy, panel ridden mess that is the official.

On the topic of QC, if their Legends-sized releases are anything to go by, we have nothing to be worried about. Magic Square makes a quality product.

It certainly wasn't that picture. Camera angle shooting up from the left BOTTOM left corner with the left leg trailing to depict something called WALKING and a heroic stance is not a pelvic thrust. Nothing wrong with dynamic posing. Unrealistic exaggerated pelvic thrusting compensating for a lack of stability is something I have only seen from posing prototypes. In case you missed it the pelvic thrust enabled the back to be curved more parallel to the legs when the chest was bent forward to compensate for the thrust. This hid potential back heaviness that might not be supported. Right or wrong, the figures are designed and posed to depict human like qualities. Where did all those dynamic poses come from, really? We are not all trying to do some exotic butt exercises.

Nice ab crunch from the video. I like the sculpted details throughout the body.

Don't they only have one mould out - Inferno/Grapple?

I mean I've heard great things and their lineup sure looks promising.

I have Inferno, Grapple, Sideswipe, Seaspray and Beachcomber from them. All absolutely fantastic figures with topnotch quality. Not an issue with any of them.

Smokestacks are there, just not attached. I don't speak their language so no idea if it's deliberate parts forming or they just haven't been permanently attached to this test/prototype.
I think the issue with the matrix is it's just silver chrome - they skipped the gold. Again, no idea if that's deliberate or a result of an unfinished test shot.
Lower legs are big though. Probably a resut of hiding wheels and fuel tanks.
It's amazingly clean looking, especially from the rear.

Yeah, I saw the base pieces to attach the smokestacks to, but I wanted to see what it looks like with the smokestacks attached.

Aah, yeah, I get ya' now.
It's around 3:20 in the video when they pick one up and kind of hold it next to the arm and try to put it on but it doesn't really stay there and it's not the best angle.
Also, no idea whether the stacks compress at all.
Judging from the grey proto images on the front page, they do look longer in alt mode.
And there are proto images with the stacks being flat and with the tops being angled - the blurry shots from the video look like the chromed ones here are flat on the tips.
Hopefully if this is a painted test shot and not just a coloured prototype, we may see samples going out to chinese reviewer's in the next few weeks?

It's definitely been an insanely fast turnaround time on this.

Can't believe that I thought the V2 Prime was flawless at one point! It looks really dated now, and this figure (and Takara's new V3 Prime) makes you realise that. I still like V2 Prime a lot though.

    Each to their own.
I still really dig MP-10 and it's pretty much a perfect Optimus Prime when viewed in the context of MP-08 through to about MP-26. It's only since they changed the direction of the line to go super toon accurate that it's starting to stand out a little. Honestly? I think Sideswipe and the Datsuns are showing their age WAY more than MP-10. The standard version of MP-10 is a little off next to MP-36, but I have him in full gold chrome as well as a cell-shaded paint job and EVA purple and the alterntae deco's really makes him pop and he looks great with chrome and cell shaded Meg's.

I'm interested to see the new V3 but it's got some major flaws baked into the concept from the start, no matter what the final product is like.
It's going to be really gappy and panel-lined (which I'm hoping they can get away with if the paint and colours are good)
But its also going to be insanely expensive, it's going to have a bunch of voice gimmicks that won't use English language clips, it still won't have proper hand articulation, there's a pretty beefy backpack thanks to the aforementioned audio gimmick, and it's honestly 50/50 at this point as to how durable the paint finish will be.
I still think it has the potential to be a worthy replacement for MP-10, but if it's RRP is less than US$350 I'll be gobsmacked (and yes, there are discounts for pre-orders but they aren't available to everyone - Amazon Japan is blocked to Australians and I have to pay an additional 10% GST which eats up a chunk of the discount. I'm currently on the hook for US$236 for MP-43 and that doesn;t inlude GST or shipping so I'm expecting it to get close to US$280/290 by the time I have it in hand. I expect V3 Prime to be even more than that given the trailer)

MS-01 and the TE Prime are both super interesting and worthy of notice. Sadly (for my wallet) I'll probably be getting them all. I also desperately hope that we see at least one more MP Megatron offering, though I feel the rapid KO of MP-36 has killed much chance of that.
