That's my understanding as well, but it doesn't explain why they couldn't have just put Animated on hiatus. I've said this a bunch of times, but that's really what they should've done. I mean, I love the Michael Bay movies more than the next guy, but I love Animated too. In fact, they should've just continued Animated in this lull between Revenge of the Fallen and the next Transformers movie.

Oh well, hopefully Prime will be a good show too.

 

I get what you mean, Jetstorm, but I think one of the reasons Animated got axed instead of being put on hiatus was because of TF: Prime. With the movies being a big hit, they figured that doing something in a similar style to them would also bring in the movie crowd of the fandom, and judging by what we saw of the new Bumblebee, Prime looks like it will end up fitting that bill better than Animated. If the movie and it's visual aesthetic didn't prove to be popular, then Animated would probably still go on, but that obviously wasn't the case.

And besides, CN owns part of the rights to the Animated cartoon from what I heard, and between the lack of advertising and airing it in bad timeslots during the later seasons, they were running it to the ground. Even with a fourth season, it probably wouldn't be able to recover from that, or get a chance to recover at all.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Animated, but you've got to understand the circumstances.

 

Derrick J Wyatt said that animated had good ratings. So it wasnt being run into the ground, stupid time slots be damned.

Aside from Wyatt, sentinelprime on formspring (Jim Sorenson) is proving to be a good source of info on the animated universe too.

Sentinel Prime confirms that Ultra Magnus died of his mortal wounds from Shockwave's attack. It is Jim Sorenson who manages Sentinel's page, so maybe this is a legit piece of news from the Animated staff.

as for what sentinel says, you have to be careful. he's actively taking part in an RP, and a lot of his "after season 3" info may be based on events that happened in the RP, and may not be canon. We'll find out what's what when the second Allspark Almanac hits.
