The following sketches are from a series of editorial cartoons I've been putting together off and on over the last several months. After many years, I'd really just had enough of a few fans and the attitudes they represented. In one of those laugh-to-keep-from-crying moments, I decided to illustrate some of these ludicrus arguments and here we are.

The series' title is a loose play on that of an old Jimmy Stewart movie. Originally, the Renegade GoBot CyKill (retired) provided the main point of view (albeit often as an outsider) for the reader. As time has progressed, other characters have occasionally taken the spotlight, usually dependent on where it takes place and what my point is.

A couple of them were previously posted in the art forum, with a good number of views but a fairly quiet reception. Wrong forum, probably, but also a different type of comic. It's not cute or campy, it's about the closest to a political cartoon that I think anybody's done. Love it or loathe it, I hope at least you had to think.

Reposted here, number 25 deals with something I've gotten very bored with seeing repeated. For a franchise that stakes its claim to superiority at least halfway on its fiction, it's unfortunate to see such tricks, whatever their inspiration, win out over actual character development. How about someone in the "creative" industry put their money/skill where their mouth is and turn out a "good" GoBots story? Note: the barely legible sign reads "U.N.C.L.E. Walther's Gun Shop."

The 26th edition is about two topics everyone's probably sick of by now, namely scalping and 2008 Camaro concept Bumblebee. Everybody's mad about the difficulty of finding one and finger pointing abounds. With all the people claiming to have bought several at a time to resell here at a "fair" price, and thus bypassing evil scalpers, the thought occurred to me that perhaps the fandom might be short circuiting itself...

I don't get the Gobot one, but the one about scalping certainly makes a point.

The art is nice too. :thumb

And here comes 27, Puzzler vs Menasor. This was actually one of the first couple of ideas I had back when I started doing these but I could never get it to work quite right. The original was laid out more like the buildup to a Dragonball Z fight...dramatic pans over a still battlefield and the like. This version's still fairly rough around the edges and the punchline's a little too "cute" but here it is anyway.

Finally... some love for Cykill. I love the first one where he kills Megatron. We constantly see Cykill getting murdered over and over in Transformers comics - finally Cykill blows Megatron apart. Good stuff! I really like your drawing style too. Keep it up! I want more Cykill!

So today I turned out something of a followup to Menasor vs Puzzler...

It's no secret that I despise having the worst E-combiner shoved into Classics.

Aww come on, at least Classics Devastator has some articulation, which is more than can be said for G1 Gestalts. :)
