Hey all. MPM06 Ironhide was released recently and a number of you have reported problems. Be it loose arms, tabs that aren't sufficient, broken tabs, truck mode that won't tab together well, et al.

What I'd like to do is to start a record of production numbers and reported issues. Production numbers are usually found stamped/embedded on the box and/or printed somewhere on the figure. The idea is by recording production run numbers and reported issues, we can narrow down which runs are a good batch and which ones are not. For example, with MPM04 we deduced that figures from a production run starting with "72" had far less reported issues than those that started with "71".

This is NOT a thread for incessant bitching. I want this to be as objective as possible in case the Hasbro/TakaraTomy designers come across it. Rampant complaining will not help.

I just got my replacement and it's great. It's 82 starting.

Will report on the old tomorrow. It was completely horrible in every way and had all qc plus extra assembly defects such as wrong metal pin sizes and two right grill pieces.

Did you mean last two digits are 72/71?

With regards to Prime it was a 5-6+ digit number that started with a 71, then 72 and I think there were a few with 73. If you guys who have Ironhide can relay the entire number that would be very helpful with regards to keeping track of reported issues.

    82561: very bad.
Double taped box lid, proper plastic ties, very muddy diecast, has all the worst qc issues like a chest that flops if you look at it wrong and ones only I've reported like the left chest has the right grill piece.

82771: really great compared to first copy.
Proper single tape, plastic ties, shiny diecast, working chest pegs, tight chest joints that hold the poses, truck comes together better.

I got a 82561 double taped one. Plastic ties were intact. Chest pegs fine but the truck does not come together well at all. Thinking about sending it back to Amazon for another try.

82821, same issues as everyone else for the most part. Chest pieces on mine aren’t super floppy like some reports, but they’re definitely not strong enough for posing. So take this data point for what you will

I also received an 82771 (from Amazon) and have had no problems with it. I wouldn't say the front car sections are the most secure but they do tab in without a problem and can hold a pose well enough. Also, the tabs on the wrist do basically nothing as they are too big to fit in the slots on the side car parts (that become the backing for the arm cannons) but they aren't really necessary as those parts don't flop around.

After a bunch of fiddling, I am able to secure the side windows and windshield into the front too which I feel is an achievement.

Those of you with the Takara release, can you post the batch # here and any issues encountered?

I've received word that those of you who have issues with your MPM Ironhide figure should call Hasbro's consumer support line. Hasbro does need to know about the issues. I advise giving them the batch number(stamped onto the box and possibly printed somewhere on the figure). This will help track down affected batch numbers and most likely which factory produced them.

    Their number is: 800-255-5516

Hi, I got the Takara release from AmiAmi, and the roof and sides are absolutely impossible to tab. The front can be tabbed but doesn't stay that way. If you tab the front wheels then the top gets disassembled and vice versa. The leg section can be transformed with absolutely no problems though. Where do I see the production number? I've found the number "K1518" embedded in the back of the box, over the barcode, is that it?

Can you take a pic of the number and post it here? I think that might be it. It's usually embedded into the back of the box, sometimes with no ink, just embossed in. It also might be printed onto a part of the figure.

Just got mine today from Toys 'R Us, #82791. He's decent but his arm panels didn't tab at all without some trimming and I can't quite get his hood to line up. He's not as bad as MPM-4 but not as good as MPM-3, MPM-5 or MPM-7.

This is the embossed number I found, it reads K1518. And these are some photos of the issued I have in truck mode. IMG_20190105_124154149.jpg IMG_20190102_155144278.jpg IMG_20190102_155115808.jpg IMG_20190102_155029527.jpg
