Yes. Yes they are worth the difference in price. I have SS Starscream and the leader Starscream but look forward to an MPM version of him. Same goes for Blackout, Megatron and 70's Camaro BB.
What are you basing that on though? MPM4 was widely panned as a hihly flawed figure. MPM3 was great. The characters you mentioned have not even been announced and no one has handled either of these irohides. Just saying there may not be $60 to $70 worth of difference between them
Many maintain that MPM-4 is a fine figure let down by some kind of assembly error. The design is inarguably far more accurate than the studio series version. I also have no idea how anyone could claim that this: Is even remotely close to this:
Ironically, only MPM Prime has a SS version of himself out right now too... and the SS Prime is one of the few SS figures that I don't want... and MPM Prime is the worst of the MPM's. I guess I'm basing it on everything: paint, accuracy, articulation, materials. They're all quite a big step up with MPM's.
Well.. I have to agree and then disagree.. The MPM4.. Oh yes.. It has tons of issues.. However, the LT02.. Perfect! View attachment 28008358 View attachment 28008358 View attachment 28008811 View attachment 28008812 View attachment 28008813 Pics courtesy of savio-prime I think that with 3ps, these figures can be the best they should be. But I wish that these were perfect from the get go. no cheap skipping of paint, or incorrect tolerances and tabbing issues. Come on HASTAK this is supposed to be "MASTERPIECE" class and scale here.. a certain standard is expected in the MPM movie line. realistic paint apps is a start.
I am gonna also have to agree and disagree with you. The KO does correct the paint and QC flaws but I'm one of many that thought the original design was... lacking.
Me either. Shoot. I need to check my tracking to see if it finally left Hong Kong. Update: Your item arrived at our RICHMOND VA DISTRIBUTION CENTER destination facility on June 13, 2018 at 1:46 pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination. It's on it's way!! It feels like Christmas all over again! I can't wait to see it.
That's okay, not everyone's cup-O-Tea, but if I may ask, what about the mold specifically do you not like? BTW I have to admit, SS Prime, that thing looks like a walking skeleton like something out of Bionnicle or something.. It's no where near what the new SS Ironhide looks like, which reminds me of the movie voyagers that were released back in the day.
Quite a bit. You recommended the LT Prime. I was planning on getting the WeiJiang/Black Apple Prime. Sadly, it appears that it will be oversized too much.
Tho I like the little additions the Black apple did, essentially the shoulder pieces, and chest section a bit, and the back and gas tanks, were the most changes. I think that with what LT02 has done, it fixes the design flaws while preserving the official look of the figure as released, but also adds that premium paint scheme, and some added detailing that just gives the best representation of the figure as it was intended, and with the revelation on how to position the back in the More Movie Accurate design, the whole thing is just set off nicely. I was interested in the BA version at one time, but now, I think I am more a fan of the Legendary Toys takes on the MPM releases, I even have their Bumblebee, and he is fantastic. But with that said, if the 35th Anniversary Prime comes out and is every bit a hit like We are all hoping it is, and the look when finally seen in full final release, I will happily join the pose my Primes together club. WHATS MORE... my MPM and MPs are in similar scale, so I have a consistent Masterpiece line, rather then a towering out of MPM scale line up.
My personal opinion so far: DotM deluxe Ironhide still looks better than this (and the studio series). Might be swayed, tho, depends on how nice those arm panels look in hand.
I know this is a bit off..and early yet, but if MPM 6 becomes LT03, what improvements on the mold would we want to see?
