In what way is it an oxymoron or in what way does it work?
What is that?
Just a reshell using a generic mecha style, like some chinese KOmpanies.
Made its first appearence along with BMB products.
If you watch the trailer, there's a scene with bee running and the door wings are flopping around in back, so I believe that the figure, like the rest of the others in the photo is just mistransformed
Yup, there's also the possibility of this being thr deluxe and not the mpm.
That's also a possibility, and it's one I'm willing to entertain considering how overall less complex the figure looks from the parts we can see
We need to consider that Ironhide must be very complex, and also let's not forget all the sculpt done in his cannons. He's just on a higher bar than prime and bee or even barry.
can't wait for him sense he my favorite movie character
So I decided to take another look at this guy with the studio series version on the way. How the frag were we worried about scale? He’s HUGE!!! I mean, sure he doesn’t look that much taller than bee in a couple photos but he’s also in a wider stance and is clearly having issues just standing.
Is it just me, or does the studio series version looking too much like the masterpiece figure itself?
Maybe in the upper torso, though the proportions on the masterpiece obviousely look better.
The transformation seems to be rather similar, which adds weight to my hypothesis that in many cases, the studio series figures are being used as dry runs for the MPMs, or vis versa (ie, take an MPM, strip out some costly engineering bits, boom, new studio series figure).
That being said, I wouldn’t be surprised if, with the budget of an MPM, hasbro was able to do an ROTF Megatron with a proper flying tank mode that could saaaay fold up inside that giant cavity that’s on the studio series figure for no apparent reason...
Why doesn't BBTS have this up for preorder?
TFsource has him up for pre order....I still don't get the lack of info on this guy. like he was revealed in NY and we've heard nothing else about him since and he releases next month!
Well, since TRU is no longer distributing these (and there seems to be indication that they might be general retail now), then it probably falls under the "Wal-Mart embargo" that all Hasbro products are being subject to now, where nobody is given the go-ahead to solicit until Wal-Mart does.
On top of that, these Movie Masterpiece figures all seem to be releasing through Hasbro Asia first. So this initial release will be through them, whom BBTS has no distribution deals with. The Hasbro USA releases have always come after.
Thanks, I may just go with Chosen Prime like I did with the last MPMs
Whoa, looks like you chose the chosen prime
This. Makes you wonder if the MPMs are worth this significant price difference...
Yes. Yes they are worth the difference in price. I have SS Starscream and the leader Starscream but look forward to an MPM version of him. Same goes for Blackout, Megatron and 70's Camaro BB.
What are you basing that on though? MPM4 was widely panned as a hihly flawed figure. MPM3 was great. The characters you mentioned have not even been announced and no one has handled either of these irohides. Just saying there may not be $60 to $70 worth of difference between them
Many maintain that MPM-4 is a fine figure let down by some kind of assembly error. The design is inarguably far more accurate than the studio series version.
I also have no idea how anyone could claim that this:
Is even remotely close to this:
Separate names with a comma.
