This is fuckin' awesome. Ironhide is by far one of my favourite movie characters designs. At first something felt off about him from the HK toy fair photos but that was more from the pose they had him in. He looks much better in the official images. Wasn't keen on the MPM's until there was confirmation they were going to continue them past Prime and Bee. So went out and got them both. Haven't even bothered transforming Prime yet so don't know if he has QC issues or not. Now, are we going to get Starscream next year? Perhaps Jazz or Ratchet too? Would love to complete the core five bots from the first movie, everything else would be a cherry on top. At the rate of releases it really opens the door for the sequel bots too. Would absolutely love an MPM Hot Rod somewhere down the track!
I'm guessing Megatron will be 12". Even know that size is a stretch now a days! Costing a little under what Dinobot MP-38 from BW is costing us. Megatron will probably be MPM-10, after Barricade, Ironhide, Bumblebee Movie Bee, Starscream, Ratchet<(a total guess. Unless they fill this slot with abother Bee movie character), & then Megatron. Probably using the deluxe Jazz as a Jazz full in, as long as they don't make deluxe Jazz 6.5" or something. I think 4.5"- 5" would be a good size. That's not true. I read the threads and so do most other people I would have to say just from reading the threads. If I don't read them I just stay out of them.
mpm-6's face is perfectly screen accurate, although not aesthetically pleasing to all, was it the case looking at it on screen? The premise of mpm's is the same as its older brother, the g1 mp line, which is the portrayal of screen accurate figures. G1 designs relied on vanilla simple cel animation design, the bay movies of course are based on intricate, highly detailed cgi models, so far a home run as far as im concerned.
Nonsense. It can be fudged (even though alt mode is scaled perfectly to MPM-3) just like firage can be. Hot Fire is a little big while Firage is a little small.
There’s a line, hot fire is across it. He’s over a head taller than bee for crying out loud! This will make him as tall as, if not taller than ironhide, and he’ll hit Prime at the red plates on his abdomen. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a beautiful figure, and looks like a wonder of engineering, he’s just FAR too big.
So how many MPM style figures are out so far, or figures that could scale well with them? Both takara hasbro and third party? Anyone got a list?
Yea I was thinking the same thing. As long as it doesn't impede neck articulation, I'll be ok with it. And I probably won't have much use for the mouth gimmick. It woulda been cooler to see a mouthplate gimmick. It's definitely the best Ironhide yup yup lol.
The mouth gimmick will come in handy when I make a gif of his transformation at the beginning of Revenge of the Fallen when he says "He's here, I smell him." @eltonlin98
