Nope--face was always disfigured. I get why people would want a clean version, though. Still, it is a part of his character. One that I'm glad they decided to portray in the toy.

Clean IH's face? Blame the previous toys.
None of those had the disfigured face.
I bet most peeps got spoiled on that part.

So is it actually part of the plot that he is disfigured or is it just an ugly mug because it's an ugly mug?

It's the same reason why hardass-type movie characters often have highly visible scars, even if they're not called-out on in the story. It establishes him as a no-nonsense, "rugged" character, who's not particularly concerned over his own appearances or health, so long as it doesn't impede him from beating things up.

Some 3p could do an add-on for a battlemask, that would be a nice homage.

-Hang on, let me ruin this figure for everyone forever...

...Ironhide has giant bloated lips on his chest.

...There. I can't unsee it, and you can't either.

This is fuckin' awesome. Ironhide is by far one of my favourite movie characters designs. At first something felt off about him from the HK toy fair photos but that was more from the pose they had him in. He looks much better in the official images.

Wasn't keen on the MPM's until there was confirmation they were going to continue them past Prime and Bee. So went out and got them both. Haven't even bothered transforming Prime yet so don't know if he has QC issues or not. Now, are we going to get Starscream next year? Perhaps Jazz or Ratchet too? Would love to complete the core five bots from the first movie, everything else would be a cherry on top. At the rate of releases it really opens the door for the sequel bots too. Would absolutely love an MPM Hot Rod somewhere down the track!

I'm guessing Megatron will be 12". Even know that size is a stretch now a days! Costing a little under what Dinobot MP-38 from BW is costing us.

Megatron will probably be MPM-10, after Barricade, Ironhide, Bumblebee Movie Bee, Starscream, Ratchet<(a total guess. Unless they fill this slot with abother Bee movie character), & then Megatron. Probably using the deluxe Jazz as a Jazz full in, as long as they don't make deluxe Jazz 6.5" or something. I think 4.5"- 5" would be a good size.

That's not true. I read the threads and so do most other people I would have to say just from reading the threads. If I don't read them I just stay out of them. ;)

That already exists as MPM-01, which is a repaint of the HFTD leader class if I'm not mistaken.

mpm-6's face is perfectly screen accurate, although not aesthetically pleasing to all, was it the case looking at it on screen? The premise of mpm's is the same as its older brother, the g1 mp line, which is the portrayal of screen accurate figures. G1 designs relied on vanilla simple cel animation design, the bay movies of course are based on intricate, highly detailed cgi models, so far a home run as far as im concerned.
