    And...half painted tanks.

So the only additional paint app is the blue on the foot. Not a good trade for the light grey plastic imho.

Doesn't look like it. Looks white rather than blue to me. I do see this has the red Autobot symbol, and I don't think that's a reflection. Seeing the half-painted gas tanks on his back is disappointing though. The blue on the feet is cool and all but wonder if it's worth the price of admission as I tend to prefer the darker gunmetal plastic.

Not sure how I feel about the lighter gray plastic yet. It could very well look much better in hand than it does in photos. The jury is still out on that. Ah well, I got two of the Takara versions preordered. Guess I'll find out soon enough.

I think the light grey isn't too bad. Blends with the silvers a little better, maybe? We will need to see it in hand. And I ordered from AE, so, you know.

Beside that, I would like both releases, and use the Has version with the Jetfire upgrade for a ROTF representation due to the darker feel. But the lighter grey feels more 2007. Meaning TF1 was rather light and heroic. ROTF was a but darker feeling, even in design (having the fallen, shadows, just a lot of darkness compares to the silvers and heroic feel of the '07 ver).

    Just my thoughts.

    MY GOSH THIS IS BEAUTIFUL!

Looks to me that more shiny plastic was used for the blue and red parts on the Takara version..

I can't tell from the video. Although, judging by the promo pics, they did use a super metallic paint for testing.

Just realized in the video, the back of the thighs are unpainted. Didn't they have the red before?

    Yup, those too.

So a couple die cast apps and that turrible grey plastic. Didn't even fix the half painted thighs.

Isn't that just the price with their discount now removed? I could be wrong, I've never ordered from HLJ so I'm not really sure how they work.

Yeah, that's the full MSRP that shows up by default whenever pre-orders get sold out and additional orders are stopped. HLJ typically has open preorders at around 20% off for a lot of hot items.

Got mine for $90 something plus shipping from AE, only thing is that I am "locked in" paying up front.

I'm almost certain that this Prime will be just as riddles with QC problems (if not outright design problems) as the Hasbro one...pretty sure they confirmed it's the same design. But if the Takara one IS better, somehow fixed the larger QC errors?...then we'll never hear the end of "Takara is superior to Hasbro, see????" from here to eternity :D  Hey man, I won't complain: as long as people get their money's worth and that the toys WORK?...that's good enough for me. Like someone said before, the ball was dropped big time on this line. Let's hope they figure it out come Barricade.

Because it's Takara's product, which is co-sold by Hasbro...
