Whats up with his elbows? there seems to be some retooling going on there. the original had no weird cover piece for them.

 

Same elbows as the Hasbro version. The 'fixed' version from four years ago had elbows like that too.

I bought this mold twice. Not doing it again unless it’s fixed.

 

My original is still in one piece but I'd love a fixed one.....or an entirely new mold.

 

My main gripe with this toy when I owned it was the skeletal hands, which I see remain in place. Shame or I might have been tempted - they really ruin the look of an otherwise beautiful figure.

I like the way this guy looks. My eye is always drawn to the front tires in "truck" mode. So slick looking. I've had a couple chances to get an original a couple times but have always passed due to the reputation for breakage. Such a shame. I have an MP28 and am generally happy with him other than those spindly legs.

 

Remember MP 05G gold Megatron? That was another reissue about 6 months before the announcement MP36 Megatron.
So Takara might want get the last bit of coins from this mold before the announcement of new mold for Rodimus.

 

Except MP5G and last release MP1 and Golden Lagoon MP10 all had more widespread releases. Limiting a last release to just China seems a little strange to me

 

Also because Takara wants BMB or Weijiang steal this mold and upsize, improve it...and when it will be almost go to production, Takara will announce MP Rodimuse V2.

My guess is that there's sufficient demand in China specifically for this figure, hence the production run allocated specifically for China.

Do wish it retained the original Takara elbows instead of the Hasbro flap elbows.

I do have a feeling we will have new MP Rodimus Prime on the way, but one that won't be able to convert to Hot Rod.
