Does anyone else have the MP3 Soundwave player? I just purchased one and bought a 2GB mini SD memory card for it. I"ve recorded all my music on it, but can't get it to play on Soundwave. Why won't it play? It will play on my computer reader docking port. HELP?????

hmm...what format of audio did you put on the card? And what exactly is the problem - were you able to turn soundwave 'on' (i think by holding down the 'play' button) you'll see a flashing light if successful.

I also read 'somewhere' that only 1GB micro cards will work...but I also recall people being successful with higher capacities...perhaps someone else can shed some light on the storage issue...

It's from my Itunes file and downloaded through Windows Media Player. I've since read it depends on the brand of the 2GB memory stick. I bought a 2GB Lexar and it apparently is not one of the acceptable brands. Guess I'll break down and go buy a 1GB memory stick. Thanks for responding!

I thought iTunes uses the ACC file format, not mp3. Try some mp3s on your 2gb card before you spend money. I really doubt Soundwave plays ACC.

And don't expect much. Soundwave's output sounds HORRIBLE!

IIRC some earlier batches of Soundwave cannot read any SD card larger than 1GB...

Its funny, soundwave sounds terrible, but the iPod convoy sounds really good for such a tiny little dock.

Only cards up to 1GB are supported officially. If you get a 2GB card to work, it's purely luck of the draw between the player and card.

And it might be worth mentioning, even though I'm the only case, Some how my 1gb card got fried and had to replace it. Just might want to look out for that.

Also, since it's worth mentioning, don't have the music in folders, it's can't see them, just have the MP3s on the card. No playlists, no folders, just the music tracks.

Wow!!! That is some awful firmware design for an MP3 player that came out 18+ months ago. My 1st MP3 player from 5 years ago have more features than this.

That's odd. I've put tracks in folders and Sw plays them just fine.

As for supposed audio quality issues, it depends on the head/ear phones you use, I've had no problems on that front.

Though that may be due to the fact that I waited a year and a half till I got him, maybe I was lucky and got one that actually worked.

It plays them, but there is no way to find a specific folder to play. It always plays the songs in alphabetic order for the file name. At least I know the only way I was able to put the tracks in a certain order was to rename them as numbers.

Heh, yeah, you're right, mental slip. My bad. However, there's still no play order unless you "number title" the tracks.

I think he meant more along the lines of all the music he wanted to listen to on soundwave :)
