When is this guy being released? Didn't they say April?
BBTS says July.
ActionHQ says July.
any idea how good this figure will be? will he be MP style ie kickass?
Will he play MP3's?
I think thats the general thing they were going for.
(Yeah, I got the sarcasm)
Im tempted to pre-order this, but until we see some more recent pictures, I dont know whether I should.
For one thing, I want to know how the interface works, so we can choose tracks instead of it just doing them all in a loop.
Of course, If I pick up MP3 player Soundwave, I'll feel obliged to get the Rumble & Frenzy headphones.
Do we know his music capacity? (2 GB for example)
I think he doesn't have an capacity. I'm pretty sure he needs a memory card to store the music.
It will use SD cards so I think it all depends on what size you get for it.
I think SD cards go up to about 4GB, so he can hold quite a bit.
EDIT: Apparently, 8GB SD cards have recently started showing up.
I'm finding the lack of pictures and info on this guy a bit disturbing.
At BBTS they have some low-res prototype pictures
I have this bad boy and the headphones on preorder, which i'm very excitd about. He does use SD cards and it says his cassette door opens for them, but I was kinda wondering if he does have any internal memory too. Whatever doesnt really matter I'll just be happy to get this guys.
Yeah I am waiting until some clearer pics then what we have seen show up before I place a preorder. I have high hopes though.
I meant GOOD pics, and info like whether or not he has a display and good controls. For the price they are charging, at least a small display with a couple lines of text should be easy to fit in.
No display = no buy for me.
I'm mainly interested to know how big this new figure is more than anything. It's hard to tell if he's the same size as G1 Soundwave or a bit smaller. Possibly deluxe Classics size?
Judging from the pics that we have seen so far, I doubt we're going to get a gun or shoulder mounted canon since his fists don't appear to be able to hold anything, and his 'backpack' will likley be reserved for real batteries.
I do love the apparent articulation he has, though. And that new head scupt that's basically a dead ringer for the Con symbol is awesome. Can't wait to see some finalalized production photos.
they said he'd be smaller than the original, but that's really the only clue they gave.
Can't tell too much on scale from the pics, but I'm guessing MP3SW is comparable in size to the Titanium version, maybe a smidge bigger.
One of the pics shows where the sd card will go. That might help give an idea of the size.
I'm hoping they'll release a version without the MP3 player electronics which is just the toy. I don't want an MP3 player, but this one would fit in very nicely with the Classics.
Too bad I just set my 60GB iPod, uhh... I might still get this soundwave, you know for shorter road trips.
