I decided I am actually going to buy a mp3 player. But now my concern is how many GB's I want on it. So I was wondering if anyone knew how many songs would fit on a 1GB vs 2GB vs 4GB vs 8GB?

About 240 songs on a 1 GB. An 8 GB can hold about 2000. Bigger is definately better. I am close to filling my 20 GB iPod. I only have 3 GB left.

I need to get one :-( I just filled my 150 gig drive with music. I'm currently trying to get that over to my 250 external. 30,000+ songs FTW!

I have about 900 songs on my 8 gig iPod Nano and it's still a little bit away from being halfway full. I think it'd be nice to have more room to be able to watch videos, but I don't think it's worth the increase in size of the player.

20gb should be more that enough for most people, depending on how you convert your mp3s. I have about 115 albums taking up about 6.5gb on my Zodiac.

I"m pretty picky with music so I dont have too many songs that I absolutely love. I got a 4gb ipod mini and I think I only have half of it filled. It really depends on what you're needs are. But Joe is basically right, the bigger the better.

I've had a 30GB iPod since last summer and I have only managed to fill it halfway full. I couldn't imagine having bigger storage. I have given up on filling mine up.

It was pure indulgence when I bought it.
For the price of the 80Gb in America I could have got the 30Gb back hom in the Uk so I went for that.

I've only filled about 10GB of music and video

I bought mine based on the Pounds to Gigabytes ratio. I didn't need a larger player but for the money I was going to pay for a smaller one it was more value.

I won't get one till the memory is bigger. 80 gigs is alot of space but I would easily fill that up.

I say go with a 30 GB video player like a IPod Video. I got one about a month ago and they are cool. I've only filled up about 5GB worth of music and have about 1562 songs on there. They are very cool and well worth it.

Funny, I was thinking about upgrading my measly 5gb Zen Micro the other day. Was in the store's today looking at the 30gb Zen Vision M. Though I think I'll wait for more stock on the 60gb Zen Vision M.

Double the storage for only $50 more? Hell yes.

Depending on what you are doing with it.

If you are playing sports or working out, a small one may be good. If it is for school or the bus, a bigger one may be alright.

I got my wife a new 1 Gb Shuffle and it is nice cause it clips to things.
