Finally, after about 7 weeks and roughly 42 hours of sanding, airbrushing, and hand painting, he's finally done. I was pretty inspired by Xeltecon's version of this figure, I couldn't resist making one myself.

After sanding nearly every surface, he was coated with HoK AP01 adhesion promoter, followed by various custom mixed HoK paints. He was then detailed using a number of Testor's Model Master enamels and acrylics, followed by several coats of Alclad Klear Coat. Alt mode parts were then wet-sanded, and re-coated to smooth out the flatter surfaces. I also used Alclad Airframe Aluminum on various parts on Prime, and the trailer.

I originally created this for myself, but I've gotten a few interested inquiries about him, and I'm considering offering him up for auction. I'll post the link in a few days when I decide what to do with him, until then, enjoy!

Brilliant! The work is so well done people on my facebook page are actually questioning what was done to him. The chrome work is something to behold.

Looks nice, but I am having a hard time seeing the difference between this and the stock mold, not sure it was worth repainting it like that, the trailer is a different story though, good one there.

Truly a thing of beauty! Something about this mold still bugs me, though. I guess I'm still partial to MP-01. Maybe it's one of those "once you have it in your hands you'll appreciate it more" types of things.

    Wonderful job, though.

I agree about the mold. For me it is the way the arms attach to the torso and how the torso has an angular look to it.

the trailer looks terrific! Its a bit hard for me to see the difference on Prime though, i mean i notice the metallic on the legs but the other colors look about the same to me. maybe a comparison shot would help. Sometimes the pics dont do justice.

@ Zildjian, i sent you another pm. please reply. thanks.

I can't tell much of what was done to Optimus since I have only seen a few pics of him before this, but there is no mistaking how greatly improved that trailer is. It looks amazing.

I'm sure if I had the figure, I'd instantly notice a huge difference in Prime too. No doubt he didn't look nearly this nice out of the box.

the long arms, short legs, wide hips..

I agree that some better pics would help show off more of the paint depth.
