if prime's upper torso is in truck mode while his legs are extended in order to fit in the UM shell, how are they going to get around the fact that his upper half is a square brick? i'm more interested to see how they'll make his body proportional and not like he's 6 months pregnant.

Great to see Takara's finally worked on making a proper Ultra Magnus... FINALLY. White Prime repaints are by far the most annoying thing I've seen tbh.

 

Agreed. It's got to the point when I see a new Optimus mold my first thought is "when is the Ultra Magnus repaint coming out?"

 

It's a good start but needs work.

 

Definitely will be a buy for me!

 

Assuming this is the route Takara is going, blurry proof whatever aside, this is a butt ugly unoriginal approach to the figure. Takara needs to step it up and get on the level of what 3rd parties are turning out these days.

 

Lots of people assuming this is a final design rather than what some designer threw together as a proof of concept/teaser.

NO NO NO NO! Ultra Magnus is NOT armor on Optimus Prime. He should be a completely separate mold. A car-carrier that transforms into a robot without partsforming. It can't be that hard to do.

This thing is useless to me. I don't accept it as a Masterpiece.

The main Masterpiece line is a high end update of the G1 toyline in the 80s.

 

Aw come on now! To everyone hating on it, do the words "VERY EARLY CONCEPT" mean anything? Just wait for the finished product. If it still hasn't improved then yes, go nuts!
