Hi guys, has anyone heard anything of *maybe* Hasbro releasing this toy in the US. Maybe as a Walmart exclusive?, or TRU?.
I just figure since we probably are gonna get (eventually) the new MP Optimus (probably) the chances of Thundercracker showing up are getting slimmer ( specially after the way the Skywarp shelfwarmed; at least in my area).
Maybe we'll get more Info about this at Botcon.
    Waddcha guys think; possible?, impossible?

I don't think Hasbro will reissue Thundercracker,if they really have this idea, they will have done it after they issue Skywarp

Possible but very slim - I think we stand more chance of seeing TC out of the new MP-11 mould somewhere down the line.

    This is my thinking also.

That's just the default cut and paste response. It doesn't mean anything either way.

    It's a question of priorities, i guess.

TRU are the apparent default retailer for Hasbro MPs.

They'd probably put MP10 before the MP11 mold, and Starscream before either of the other seekers.

If they get to MP11 at all... Since TRU only seem to be doing one Masterpiece a year, at that rate by the time they get to ordering another one, they may have other options on the table.

So not impossible, but a bunch of circumstances, plus TRU probably being pretty aware of what Hasbro have done, or are doing, make it a fairly unlikely prospect.

Skywarp being the exception of course. I know that turned out badly, but it does mean there is a chance of MP repaints finding distribution away from TRU in the future.

If I had to put money on it, I'd say impossible. Go get igear lighting instead.

Highly, highly unlikely. Not impossible, in the same way that Hasbro rereleasing Fort Max for $20 isn't impossible.

The last time they released an MP Seeker at US retail, it went to clearance. No retailer is going to look at that success and think "yep, that's what I want." MP Starscream sold very well, but WallyWorld didn't account for the amount of interest that dropped off for a less popular character and a second release of the same mold. A third release will not logically do any better.

Popularity is the key. Starscream is way more popular than Skywarp. My guess is Skywarp would sell better than Thundercracker. Sucks for me because I didn't get Thundercracker. I don't want to pay the Takara price on eBay and I don't like the colors of the IGear version.

Question, is the new MP Starscream the same scale as the last one?

I was very impressed with igear lightning also. He is very nice in-hand when a friend showed him to me. Very good quality all around and the blue was spot on with the cartoon. Really nice figure if you can't wait for an official one.

Perhaps what i should've said was that TRU appear to have *become* the default Hasbro Masterpiece retailer?

Wal-Mart are perceived as *under* ordering MP Starscream. I don't think the problem is absolute lack of demand, so much as miscalculation as to
how long they might take to move, and it's apparent Wal-Mart wanted Skywarp gone quicker than it moved at regular retail price.

TRU.... i think...will hold onto an exclusive like that until it's gone, or near gone, at full retail price.

Maybe Amazon isn't impossible, but i'm not really sure exactly how 25th Unicron came into their hands, if it was deliberate, or because some other supplier didn't want it.

IMO, I think if they were to release a MP Thundercracker , they would need to give the buyer some incentive. Can anyone say 2-pack?

Nah, MPs are generally slow sellers individually, can you imagine the shelf-warming potential of an MP 2-pack? I shudder to think.

Skywarp failed so badly they released it in the UK, where it also did badly. I doubt it. Shame, because the Takara version is badly coloured. I recently got I-gear Lightning, after saying no more Seeker purchases, and it is AMAZING! I can't say enough good things about it and I am seriously contemplating replacing Skywarp and Screamer.

Once I get mp-11, sunstorm will be taking a back seat to the main three.

Im guessing argos dropped it quick because they got it cheap.

Takara were more interested in macross collectors....but i do like mp6.

From memory, when Argos picked up Skywarp he was initially £59.99, but that dropped by 25% within a day or two, and never went back to full price. Wasn't be £19.99 at one point?
