After my less-than perfect Skywarp repaint, I tried my hand at TC. As with SW, I modded the waist for better side-to-side rotation of the torso, and sanded quite a bit to improve articulation.

I'm very happy with this one, and am likely to sell it on eBay, although I'm a little concerned about the wing-flange joints--I've barely moved them, and they are already cracking :banghead:  What do you guys think about selling something you have a concern like that over? It's a flaw in the design, and not the result of uncareful articulation, but I'd feel lousy if someone spent a fistfull of dollars on this and it broke the 2nd or3rd time they transformed it.

Still, what do you think? I went with a more-or-less G1 toon colour, but with some darker blue highlights to breakup the rather monotonous look of solid colours. Hopefully my Thundercracker decal for the base will arrive early next week.
I'll post jet mode pics soon.

    Amazing work!
*edit*Is it just my eyes or are those little black things above his feet upside down? I don't have a MP SS so I can look for reference...

hey man, that looks really good. as for the joint, inspect it and see if you can loosen it any so that it won't be stressed when used.. if its a screw, loosen it, if its a pin, find a drillbit that is the same size as the pin and gently stick it in the pinhole at a really low RPM, will loosen that up nicely.

I thought about that too, Redline. It's a pin, and the way it's been inserted means I can't tap it out, unfortunatley. Plus, the joint is so tight I'd likely fracture it even if I could tap it out. Poor design...:(

If that was official, I'd buy it, no doubt. I honestly do prefer toy accurate colors, but the final product before me is pleasing to my eyes. Much kudos.

Sh*t! They ARE upside down! Lol! Thanks for pointing that out, TC--those little pieces are a royal pain to get in and out, but I'd better fix them. Again, thanks.

The basic blue is Tamiya Light Blue.
I'll still waiting for some decals to arrive, and then I'll post the jet pics. I've decided to sell this on eBay, after which I'm considering doing a commission Thundercracker or Skywarp if anyone is interested.

Very well done but I agree that it's a bit too bright. I don't think the blue even on the cartoon was that bright, but it still looks good.
