Heya gang! This is a quick custom here. Basically got myself the G1 coloured MP Starscream, and while he's great and all, I never had a problem with ol' MP3.

As I didn't want him to go to waste, I decided to change up some of his colours a bit, and voila, stand-in Thundercracker!

Aside from a silver chest, crotch plates, lighter silver intakes and face, with a dash of red and black arms/hands, everything else remains the same, though I'll probably add some blue stripes on his chest soon. He's not 100% G1 accurate, but neither are Starscream nor Skywarp, if you think about it. I think despite it being a rather quick and 'lazy man's' effort, it's a decent looking Thundercracker to hold me out until if/when Takara does release him for real.

If they do, he still looks different enough to be a separate character, so win-win :D .

That actually looks really cool. Suits him better than as Starscream. Good work

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to do that.

Excellent! Simple, minor paint really helps him. He just needs a little something more. Not sure what....

I wonder what he'd look like with the first silver stripe on the wings painted blue? Leave the red and thin silver ones alone. Maybe? I donno.

he does look very good though. I'm jealous of your trio. My Screamer is lonely.

Yeah! That's exactly what I was thinking of doing. I was planning to replace all the white stripes with blue, though maybe I'll limit it to the stripes on his arms. Will do just that first thing tomorrow, after heading to the hobby store.

And what are you waiting for, get yourself some seekers :D !

Cool, I was thinking the same idea as a stand in for TC.

Might have to do a little touch up, myself, thanks for sharing!

I used Citadel Colours (Chaos Black, Chainmail and Boltgun metal. Such odd colour names..), which I'm darn sure are acrylics. They dried really fast and stuck on extremely well!

I have to say that you're not the only one who's had that idea, but I've liked Starscream in those colors to begin with *dodges fanboy null rays*

Regardless, I REALLY like what you did with this guy! :thumb

I still want all 3 of these guys REEEAAALLY badly . . .

Nice work, exactly my plan as soon as US SS is in my hands. I'm glad I used MP-03 for his tail numbers instead of SS. I will be painting all of the blue parts silver and his gloves black. Maybe member Xeltecon will quit school and paint me a Thundercracker to match his SS for $10 commision.

Do they stick well? I've always considered using those... (Since there's no way I can ever acquire Testors around here.)

Smashing job, by the way. :thumb

I have the same "repaint" in mind for my MP03 as soon as a nice board member will hook me up with a Hasbro MP SS :)

I'm tempted to do that to mine now! But then when MP Thundercracker gets release I'd probably regret it...

    Looks great though!

Update! Added blue stripes to him, as well as a glosscoat.

I think this definitely helps him look even more like the TC we know! Once everything's dried, it's Transformation test time!

Looks nice. Hey KYQ, is the pointy tip of your Skywarp broken by that arrow? Becasue my MP-03 had the same break but on the other side when I opened him...

Unfortunately, yeah, he did break along there, though I reckon it was due to him having taken a fall or two or three <__<. What sucks is that I didn't notice it before until you pointed it out...
