No box art but it's probably like Starscream's and features him in his coronation gear (probably exactly one of the photos you see on Amazon.co.jp).

Do we know how Amazon.jp will sell it though? ROTF Black Leader Prime was technically a freebie with the ROTF DVD/Blu-Ray, so they did ship that internationally.

Let me be clear, Amazon.co.jp will not sell to residents outside of Japan for figures. People were only able to get the black RotF Optimus because it came packed with the DVD/Blu-Ray, they'll sell Blu-Ray/DVDs to residents outside of Japan but not collectibles/action figures.

So no people won't be getting them from Amazon.co.jp outside of Japan.

BUT the figure will be available outside of Japan (Hong Kong, Singapore, etc). This is how places like BBTS and TFSource usually get these things.

Like all the e-Hobby Exclusive stuff is usually available outside of Japan not from e-Hobby. Like Black Rodimus Convoy, Ghost Starscream, Convoy Black, etc etc etc.

Though those versions don't end up coming with the exclusive things packed with the e-Hobby versions (comics). But since this is not an e-Hobby exclusive there probably won't be any extra incentive to get it from Amazon.co.jp over the outside of Japan Asian sources.

The shipper box with the smile on it is nice. I assume the Japanese Amazon uses it too. But yeah, I'm fairly certain Takara won't miss a chance to sell more of these to wanting fans.

Yea, I'm pissed about that price but I've I-gears Ratchet & Ironhide that come before this guy in my priority list anyways. I was hoping it would be closer to MP-11 cost, I definitely was not expecting a $100 more.

 

This went from "definite buy" to a "hell no".

no doubt...i will be still getting this tho...i think igear nailed it w/ s.storm with their color pallet choice...the takara ver has better detail but i think the over all color is off/wrong IMO...and at $250 this is hardly an igear killer...some people amaze me with thier overall hate towards certain 3rd party companies...not to derail....

 

$250 is the price offered by one retailer in the US.

You got to figure this will be offered for roughly retail in Japan and other Asian countries (as this is a regular figure release in Malaysia and other areas like that - not with a huge markup).

So while Americans may be paying a huge markup from BBTS (and their price may change) it's not going to be the case for just about every other area that a good amount of TF fans reside (like Japan & Asia).

Right. So far, this is the only site where I've seen it listed. BBTS may have a Japan hook-up buying their's through Amazon.co.jp with a hefty commission or something and we are just getting the bad end of the deal. There's a chance the price may yet go down. I was more or less just saying that we can purchase them after all.

 

BBTS has it up for preorder now at 250 plus shipping...Ugh..screw all that. Tired of seeing the prices of collectors stuff that is just repaints coming out more and more expensive each and every single time..

 

Well, I just got my BBTS newsletter and it says

BBTS could of selected 250 to monitor how many preorders they receive. If they get enough, they'll probably leave it there. On the flip side, if they get TOO little business, it'll come down.

 

I could almost get a Premium Format figure for that - high-end limited stuff. I couldn't bring myself to pay that for Grimlock, much less Sunstorm. And I really wanted that Grimlock. Damn shame.
