It seems like the general opinion with Transfans is that MP Starscream was a disappointment. Unwanted kibble and a inaccurate paint job were some of the main reasons.

What would you change about MP Starscream to make him a better Transformers or MP in general?

Did anyone ever find out why they gave him an inaccurate paint job in the first place? Even though he isn't that good I've considered buying him but was trying to wait out for one with a new paint job.

Apart from the flimsy plastic and perhaps more metal I thought MP3 was awesome.

I like Classics Starscream better than I do MP. I don't like the color or the kibble. I'm glad I didn't shell out the money for him.

the type of plastic they used, the colors and the hip kibble.

but hes still worth the price of admission. fabulous engineering, nice size, no regrets.

...even once they repaint him later :)

I think the designer wanted the alt mode to look real.

His robot height compared to MP Convoy or Megs, the color, the unwanted kibble, the idiotic changes made, they should have focused more on bot accuracy then stupid minor crap to make the jet look more "realistic", again, thats what model plane kits are for, but I think that was the problem, the designer was more worried about the jet then the actual charachter he was suppose to be representing.

When mine arrivied, I had become so skittish from reading about all the problems people had, I never took him out of the box - still haven't.

So aside from the color and lack of metal, my biggest complaint is a personal fear of transforming him.:lol

    EDIT: Spelling.

the only problems I've heard that I agree with are the flimsy plastic/qc issues. I dont want a toy that expensive to be breaking easily

the colors, the size, and the lack of diecast are all things I couldnt possibly care less about

I was skittish about MP Screamer also. I had read over the a bunch of the MP-03 threads and I remembered most of the recomendations when transforming the wing section. So when I finally got him, I did something I hardly ever do. I got out the instructions and transformed him step by step (and remembered to losen up all the panels around the wings before folding the wings up).

The hip kibble is stupid and there was no need for it. Takara should have bitched slapped the designer and reminded him that he's designing a robot not a fancy realistic jet. Takara did the opposite and let the designer have free rein over what the final product looked like (including paint scheme). If memory serves the MP-03 designer is well known for his macross designs? The result is something that a Macross fan might have been happy with, but fell way short for TF fans.

Only thing I'd change is how fragile it is. Maybe more die-cast too. Otherwise it's perfect.

For simplicity's sake, I am just going to go ahead and 2nd everything that UB said above. I mainly just want a toon accurate color scheme.

Well for me it was mainly the coloring, if i'm spending all that cash on a Starscream figure I want it to *look* like Starscream. I'm really hoping hasbro does a domestic repaint of him in more toon accurate colors. Also, as far as MPs go, he is a bit short. But that doesn't concern me too much now that Megs is gonna get released.

    I'll ditto your ditto.

The original prototype was good enough for me. I still was going to purchase the MP-03 regardless of the changes until I saw the pink and sea green colors. Talk about killing a toy, aesthetically.

Die-cast, softer plastic, or less of an interference fit on the Infamous Back Joint. Other'n that, I'm satisfied.

The color, and now that I've seen MP Megatron, the price. Starscream is smaller and should cost less. Repaint him as Skywarp with that GLORIOUS Classics color scheme and I'll give you $75.

    Word!

Plus after about reading all the QC issues I was even happier! It takes a whole lot for me to not want a Transformer.

    The color! It's awful!

And of course of all the breakage I've been reading about! But it is the color that prevents me for purchasing one for the most part. I'd also like to see some big decepticon logos on him wings.
