    Now I'm certainly no wiz at working out scale and ratio but I think I got this right...

    Measurements for the first SS proto were given at 320mm in length (give or take a mil') for jet mode. A real F-15Eagle measures 63.8ft in length. Crunching those numbers, I think gives up a scale of 1/59.8 exact; Damn close to 1/60.

    Can someone check me on this? Sorry if this has already been mentioned.

    1ft = 300mm
    63.8ft = 17943.75mm
    devided by 320mm = 59.8125.
    Pretty close alright. Go Maths!!!

    Cool! Thanks Ger_Hankey!

    Maybe I'll consider picking up 1/60 Macross Valk' to display with SS.

    Weeee, Maths IS fun!

    Yeah it did come out pretty close to 1/60 when I figured it out, could almost use the upcoming Yamato YF-19 as an updated Jetfire..................

    Infosaur, do you mean the Robot mode height? That was given as 220mm for the original proto; that may of changed slighlty with the second proto.

    I think the only G1 Jetfire look-a-like is the Yamato 1/48 VF-1S. Am I correct on that Macross fans?

    I'm really excited that Starscream may be close to scale. He's kinda' become Binaltech Screamer in my eyes with that.

    Oh, and Maths is the thing that helps us work out how many purchases we can squeeze outta X amount of $:D

    I love scale! I love 1:60 scale screamer. Is he an official McDonald/Douglas licensed product?

    Judging by a new act that was passed not too long ago, I don't think it would matter if he is officially licensed. The act said something about the companies not needing royalty payments for the license...I think but I am not sure.

    And yes it was mentioned a while back that he is 1/60 scale. Yamato's VF-0 and upcoming YF-19 are also 1/60 scale.

    Official? It hasn't been mentioned with any of the pictures we've seen lately. Someone pointed out (on these boards I believe) that screamer isn't entirely accurate, ie: It mixs characteristics of both the American and Japanese Jet.

    Edit: Thanks for that info Shin; interesting. I didn't know it had been announced that SS was 1/60; must of missed that. BTW, are the 1/60 Macross fully transformable, or do you have to remove parts?

    1/60 VF-1s are not fully transformable, you have to part swap(the 1/48 VF-1 is perfect variable though)

    1/60 VF-0 and upcoming 1/60 YF-19 are both perfect variable. Also the current VF-0S costs 50-60$ more than MP Starscream.
