That is not storing as batteries.
Nope. Similar, but no.
Like it or not, the weapons are batteries
I don't believe the weapons on this guy are "batteries". They don't store away like the ones on the G1 version. Batteries would be enclosed within a compartment, not left out in the open as they are on the back of the MP version. So even though they fold back behind the tape deck, it's more to do with cleaning up the transformation vs "storing batteries." If they wanted them to be batteries, they would be removable and storable in their own compartment on the back.
Cannot wait for mine to arrive. I was at a show with my dad a few years ago when these came out at TRU. I found one at a the TRU store in Hickory, NC, that had a damaged box. I was broke, so my dad bought it for me (as he did the G1 version at Christmas in 1985). When my ex-wife left later that year, I had to sell it. I always regretted that... especially since my dad died in November. Thanks to this release, I can afford to get another one. I will keep this one forever, because it will serve as a reminder of that awesome day: and as the last Transformer my dad bought me. Just wanted to share.
don't forget the year of the goat
I sort of do this... If there is a difference (box/packaging, color - i.e. diff eye color, etc...). But for things like the MP-10 re-re-re-releases I haven't purchased one from each release. I mean, technically I think each production run has a stamp for when they were produced but I have to draw my OCD line somewhere... I did pick up one of these even though I have 2 of the original Hasbro Soundwave releases. Part because I didn't know if it would have any changes and part because it wasn't a bad price.
I think we'd all like to forger year of the goat soundwave... Thank God I waited for another rerelease and got this one instead of buckling and settling for that ugly thing. Why can't these things have GOOD color schemes???
I actually like my Goat wave
Mainly got him for the cassettes (I use them as cloaked versions of themselves in photo stories) but happy with my oddly colored soundwave.
I have this reissue one on its way to cover me in case of breakages over time for my original.
I like mine as well and got KFCs Shattered Glass Blaster to go with him. I need to get the red version now, since I ordered the Soundwave re-issue.
I've had my on KFC's SG Transistor but I'm waiting for the price to drop.
It's very nice. You will probably like a lot.
I got mine through the other day and after wanting it for so long I was a little disappointed with the final product. The figure itself is great, but the paint (particularly the silver on the forearms and mask) is applied sloppily and looks like it's rubbing off in several places. I thought it might be just my figure, but both bird have paint splatters from their beaks up the sides of their heads, so it looks like a QC issue across the board for these re-issues with the paint.
Unless of course I've just been really unlucky with my figures.
Just took mine apart to replace the eye piece and noticed the head parts aren't glued together on this release. Is that a first?
Also, no molding defect on the faceplate.
Yes, that's the way the other releases have been.
Whoops, made a typo. Meant to say that they AREN'T glued together, which I think is a first, hehe
Fantastic news about the head not being glued together! I was going to live with the yellow eyes, since I'm not keen on cutting up my figures, but now it looks like I'll be able to give my Soundwave red eyes after all!
Totally! I had read up on the process and was ready to give it a try but I really wasn't looking forward to it. I was so relieved when the back of the head just came off without any effort. Currently in the process of painting the eye piece.
Don't have that problem with mine. Only issue is the camera on laserbeak's head is sorta derped to one side when it opens. I haven't fiddled with it much but IIRC from the KO Buzzsaw it's just off its pegs slightly. Will probably fix later when I care more.
No faceplate blemish and all signs point to an immaculate bot.... Shame about the sprue marks on the legs though.
Anyone know how to clean those up and make them less noticable?
Separate names with a comma.
