JUST when I stopped collecting MPs, too. Damn. Good to see that people who are still interested in this guy can finally get one for a decent price, though!
Oh, good, it's the Hasbro version that's being reissued. Great news for everyone that missed it but I already have one so I can wait for a Takara Reissue. I wouldn't mind snagging the wee die cast Soundwave though.
Finally! I would think for how popular this guy is it wouldn't have taken so long for a re-issue. I'm betting this is gonna go for 150-200, curious if once preorders open up, will that bring the price down on ebay sales as well?
He had yellow eyes in the Marvel comics too. A lot of people want that, myself included (though I own the Takara version, would love some different colour eyes).
I have both the Takara and Hasbro one and I like the yellow eyes much more. Not sure why. Really happy for people who can finally pick this up. It's amazing.
Looks like I might finally be getting my hands on an MP Soundwave. ^_^ Can't believe it's taken this long for a reissue.
For all the anti-yellow eye people on here... there's a set by (nonnef IIRC) on ebay for like 6 bucks of red eyes that you can swap out. He's probably on here too.
Disappointed that they never made MP Blaster and his cassettes (just wanted the cassettes accutally).
Hmmm. Really need MP Soundwave, but not sure I want to shell out to import a Hasbro version. I've got Takara's Soundblaster and he's great. For those who have both the Takara and Hasbro versions, what's the difference, quality wise?
Torn since I have a sound blaster and prefer that deco but do want all the cassettes and prefer non-KO.
None. The only difference is that Hasbro comes with all the tapes, a yellow visor, and a "CE" stamp on his leg. Takara comes with just Lazerbeak and a red visor plus some tiny silver paint here and there. Otherwise they are 100% identical, mold, deco, and QC-wise. What? It's G1 toy and comic accurate.
Asia release means that retailers in Asia outside of Japan will carry it. No retailers in Japan will carry this as it's not a TakaraTomy Japan release but a Hasbro Asia release of a Hasbro USA product. AE, NY, and AA will only ever carry TakaraTomy product (or Hasbro product IF TakaraTomy were to distribute it). Often the Masterpiece reissues are Hasbro Asia's doing. Sometimes TakaraTomy will re-release their Masterpiece figures, but it's far less often then Hasbro Asia doing it. The Japanese one has been reissued at least once before. Around when Masterpiece Prowl first came out. Randy
