So, Sideswipe is in scale with the new MPs and now some people want him to be bigger and out of scale because it would look better? Funny shit. Lol.

I like Jazz and I'd love to get him, but I'm kinda hoping to see Hound or WheelJack first.

Agreed. I hope they continue to make these smaller scale Autobot cars. Hopefully MP Prowl, Sunstreaker, and Jazz aren't too far down the line.

Prowl is a pretty obvious choice considering the number of stuff you can redeco him into.

    Thank for the pic

Looks like the car masterpieces and alternators will blend relatively well, at least in robot mode. Will help fill ou the display until we get more later

But what to do with alt sideswipe and the others that will eventually get replaced?? Time to look into reprolabels custom kits maybe

I'm very happy with the size. Isn't he about the size of Alternator?

Do Alts/BTs fit in the MP10 trailer?

No, smaller. The initial comparison pics suggested a size of 17cm for MP-12 which is already shorter than any alt. (Classics Prime is 17cm.) The new pics from the Tokyo display show that MP-12 might even be a tiny bit smaller (more like 16,5cm). Most alternators will be at least a head taller than MP-12.

    No, to barely.

Tried a few (Honda s2000 & civic, Chevy, Mazda, Subaru and Jaguar) and they all had trouble with the mirrors. Most fitted, albeit very tight, but the sidemirrors would in all cases touch the trailer. (With the corvettes you had to fold the mirrors in.)

I will be more happy if he is bigger than the size of a normal Alternator.

You say that Sideswipe is in scale with the line, but isn't he significantly smaller than Hot Rod? Hmmm.... :sly2:

Interesting, I'd assumed Alts would be way too big for MP-10's trailer. MP-12 seems to only just fit in that video. Any ideas of alt mode scale for the Lambo yet? Clearly nowhere near 1/24 but apparently too big to be 1/32 either.

As for Sideswipe's bot mode, I can live with it. A bit taller would have been nice (something like the height of Alt Smokescreen in the photo Wyvern posted). More for comparison with the seekers than anything. The 'Bots used to be able to tackle a seeker in the toon, rather than just stare him in the navel...!

Yeah, was also very surprised. Had already started the reply with a big fat "no", but then decided to actually test it. To my surprise most I could get in the trailer -- although those that had moveable sidemirrors had a definite advantage. But of those I tried, most fitted. With some difficulty and there's no way that in real life one of those cars could be driven in, but as a toy and with care...it fits albeit at the risk of paintscratches.

(But most of those are smaller cars or have movable sidemirrors. Haven't tried something like a Mustang or a jeep.)

    As for MP-12...at a guess I'd say he's about 1:28-30.

In the pic you can roughly guess the wheelbase which seems to be around 8-8.5cm. With a real countach this is 245cm, so...somewhere between 1:28 (for the 8.5cm) or 1:30 (8 cm). I'm leaning more towards 1:28, but that's probably wishfull thinking on my side, because I really want it to be closer to alt scale :)

I also wish MP-12 was slightly bigger mostly because of the seekers. If you put a BT/Alt next to MP-11 it looks perfect. If I put classics Prime (who's only slightly taller than MP-12), it just looks wrong.

When people say that, they mean the post-MP10 line. I do believe Roddy works with this scale as Rodimus Prime, but the Hot Rod part causes issues.

For me, I realize that MP-12 makes sense in that he matches up to the scale sheets for G1, and his car works with MP-10's trailer. However, I'm still shaking this gut feeling that I want him to be a bit bigger even if it breaks scale.

What about if vehicle mode sizes are in scale even if the characters robot modes are not?
