He's done! Well, I'm thinking of trying the foot swivel job Optimus Timelord suggested but after monumentally failing the chest swivel the feet won't be so forgiving so I'm not sure wether to quit whilst I'm ahead. Excuse the lack of poses as the paint is still drying (hence the eye reflection on his chest). He will still still transform no problems.

Very happy with the bigger head...makes a big difference IMO, altho the junker I got didn't have his antenna/ears so I had to use Alt Shockblast's. I also used the front section of the junker instead of the KO, if you compare pics you can see the detail wasn't as good, there was no hole under the chest plate and the chest plate itself was all moulded with no detail. I think his shoulder columns are slightly bigger on the original too but maybe I'm seeing things. My shitty camera is washing out the different paint shades so I may try and up some more detailed ones later tonight if I get chance.

Hope you all enjoy as much as I do :)

    Cheers buddy!

    Cheers man, much appreciated!

He's not dry enough to transform mate, that's why the poses are limited and no alt mode. It'll be a few days but I'll up pics of gun mode when I get chance.

Well done bud, you pulled it off nicely! :thumbs2:  I wouldn't blame you for just leaving him as is, foot swivel would just be an added bonus at this point.

What went wrong with the chest swivel thingy by the way?

Cheers man, like I said before this dude is my holy grail. I'm still tempted with the toe swivel....I'll see how I feel when Mirage is decal'd.

RE: chest swivel. I think it's a mixture of parts used and my under generous cutting. I think I should have made it a little bigger......I also used one of the axles + inner wheel black clips from the Tamiya Lambo kit and was running into problems with keeping it all working but staying stable but due to the the tiny parts that was very hard. I guess I could use some styrene tubing but to be perfectly honest, I wouldn't have displayed him in 'toy' mode anyway....I was just trying to go that extra mile because it was Shocky. He transforms and going from my past that's a positive!!

    Thanks as always!! :D

looks great, I reall think ou have done a good job on him.

I toyed with the idea of foot swivel too, but have chickened out so far. if ou do, which i dont think he needs it. Can ou post some WIP pics of that stage, it might encourage me to do the same.

I never thought of addin chest swivel. great idea, I might have ago mself at that.

Yeah sounds like it would have been a redundant feature then. Nice idea though :)

Bet you're happy with this one... Great that he transforms too.
Oh does he still have the light/sound features?

Cheers man, I'd love to see what you've done.

Nah man, he's a mix from a chinese ko and a very beat up Astro Magnum so the mix couldn't have kept those gimmicks. It is interesting to see the difference in electronics in each figure tho!

Cheers dude, the older head does look a bit silly now lol

Man that is fantastic! The detail your putting in is amazing. I was wondering revisiting the shoulders and adding forward and backward movement but was struggling to think of a clean way....now I need to find s Silverbolt!! I'm really looking forward to seeing it finished and hope you can get that chest swivel in, you'll be able to pull it off with ease :D

    Now I'm thinking Swoop. Git.

If I can help in anyway with Swoop. Give me a tinker (a PM)

There is alot of area for paint rubbing in the new shoulder joints from the silverbolt mould. Away round it would be to put a plastic washer on each side to elimnate that problem. (Scotscream's idea)

I havent done anyhting on shocky for a while, but in a couple of months after a secret project for a comp. I will get back to it.

I put a flashing LED into his arm cannon which is from a Bionicle mining tool. It flashes for short period. Did the same in the head, but probably going to change that for a simple on/off switch for a normal (no flashing) light in the head, so his eye can stay on constantly. Better i think.
