I loved Thyvipera's Masterpiece Scorponok (seen here: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/475328-masterpiece-scorponok-version-2-0-a.html), but wanted to change the Zarak headmaster so it's more in line with my other Head/Powermasters (with the Perfect Effect figures as the base). So I took apart the existing head, and rearranged some of the parts to make room for the new head.

I wanted to go for a more G1 toy/Headmasters toon accurate description, in the sense that Zarak does not become the entire head like Cerebros does with Fort Max (or like Scorponok's depiction in the Marvel/IDW comics). Rather, Zarak's head is contained within the huge helmet. So it may come off as a bit small at first glance, IMO it's a good homage to the original G1 toy.

    The photos display the following:

    - New Lord Zarak headmaster (although I forgot to paint his eyes red. Will be corrected)

    - New head for scorpion mode, I filled in the two holes and painted them orange to give the impression of an insect's eyes

    - Sequence of events (back sliding open, insert headmaster, close back panel) that produce the Zarak/Scorponok headmaster

    - Shots of the new head on top of the body.

As always, comments & critiques are encouraged. Enjoy!

Yea, like javaco said, the face looks a little to small, but over all, it's very cool bro. If you were able to make the face for the helmet a little tighter, you'd be golden! Would also like to add that I love the fact that you've made him larger to actually COMPETE with FM.

Thanks all, but Thyvipera built MP Scorponok. I just modded the head after the fact.

I think that's a perfect way to integrate the HeadMaster aspect. Outstanding!

I think if you painted the "mohawk" portion on the helmet (just above Zarak's head), you avoid the "smallness" issue. It would convey the sense of size without having to make Zarak any bigger.

Excellent work - both of you! :thumb

Very cool. Those shadow warriors are coming in pretty handy for head/powermasters.

I thought about doing that, just wondered if it would make the top portion of the helmet come off as too thin. I'll try it today and see how it looks.

I had to google up the original toy to see this is exact to the toy specs. Some of us never had a Scorpy :(

    Nicely done d00d.

Okay, I changed things up just a bit. Painted the top of the Zarak head, and added another bit on top of the helmet. Hopefully it will alleviate some of the size issues.

    What do you guys think?

Payton, The only thing that I see that kinda throws it off for me is the orange pieces on the sides of the helmet. they are just excess block sitting there.

As somebody who i usually see using the animation stills as reference I'm sorta suprised you didn't go that route here.

The rest of the head looks Amazing though man. :)
