I wanted a Scorponok for the collection and of course the G1 version is a clunkly thing. Seeing other's takes on Scorponok I took some inspiration and did my version.

I've always hated the whole Headmaster/Targetmaster gimmick, so that was never going to be a part of the plan. My Scorp would be all mecha.

Used Starscream's head, arm and leg pieces.

Painted the base coats with Design Masters Colortool Violet and Light Olive. They sell these paints at Michael's and, for my money, give an awesome rich look and smoothness to the finish. Details and drybrushing with Tamiya & Vallejo acrylics.

I took pics of the original applied decals and brought them into my signmaking software (you could use illustrator) and started resetting the design vectors. My printer is capable of printing shiny silver so I did the work to include that feature in the finished new decals.

    Parts:
    G1 Scorponok
    Supreme Starscream
    CW Hand/Feet
Spare Lego pieces for the antenna
    Polystyrene pieces
    Assorted kibbles n bits

This came out as good as I could have ever hoped for. I am happy to have it in my collection.

That's a LED drop light tied to a hook in the ceiling to hang in the air at just the right spot, plus the camera flash. :)

I think you should have painted the CW parts flat to match the rest of the figure. As they are, they kind of stand out as looking dry-brushed when the rest of the paint is flat.
Still, this is an awesome, seemingly simple build! Makes me look at the spare Scorponok body I have sitting in the other room...

Thanks. I had the canons just silver, but didn't like the look. Seemingly simple is the keyword here. The knees were... Interesting to accomplish.

Wow... incredible. If I may ask, how long did this take you complete? It looks like a ton of time and effort went into this project, and the end result is worth it. Great job.

    Also, got any comparison pics?

Thanks. I'd say in actual hours I've got about 20 in to this, but that was spread over 2 weeks.

I don't have any comparison pics, sorry. But who are you looking to compare to?

Anybody really just to get a sense of scale. I think Supreme Starscream is about 16 inches tall, but it looks like you added quite a bit even if you used that as your base figure.

It looks like he might pair well with Titan Returns Fort Max, so I'd be curious to see how he looks next to Metroplex as a stand in.

Wow, great job Makoaspire! That's the G1 Scorponok I wanted as a kid. Both his modes look clean; does he still have a city-mode? If so, post pics please, if not, then he's pretty awesome as is.

I'm hoping HasTak eventually makes a Titan Scorponok that's even half as cool as yours. I'll just have to wait and see if that happens. In the meantime, I'll enjoy that beautiful eye-candy you made!

Here's a couple of pics with some foes. Took a tape to him and he's just under 15 to the top of the antennae.
