This is a pictorial review showing my MP Rodimus after some minor upgrades to functionality and paint work.

Honestly, I was pretty upset when I got my MP Rodimus.
His back parts didn't latch into place so it flopped down easily. The chest easily swung out of place. His knees and shin parts feel fragile. His hands are kind of feminine, and didn't hold his guns.
I'd seen the pics and seen pretty favorable reviews, so I was really disappointed, especially for over $200.

After some thinking, I decided to dremel and file at parts in his backpack so it fit together right, then file at the pegs so the latch worked. After that i applied a bit of superglue on the prongs that hold his chest in right (took a few layers) and his gun handle pegs. That fixed my biggest gripes, so then I went on to give him a few finishing touches to make him more like a damn $200 toy.

You may be able to see in the pics that after combining Hot rod and trailer for Rodimus alt mode, there are now a couple of little paint scrapes on the spoiler. Not a huge deal but not super cool either.
Other than that, I like him now. All 4 wheels touch the ground in car mode and the toy looks great in all modes.

I repainted the car interior using the movie for reference and detailed the matrix chamber for some final MP touches.

could you post some pictures of where you cut away plastic and added glue? because those are the only things preventing me from buying this otherwise gorgeous creation. Great job by the way, I've always loved seeing your customs.

The huge gap on his sides/back are the biggest thing keeping me from buying this.

That's about the only problem I have with his looks overall, and its not a big one at all.

Not a problem at all if you figure out how they work first and be careful with them when transforming.

Its not. Period. The chances of you getting that 1 out of 10 with no problems is ... well about 1 out of 10.
If you don't think the price will drop, know how to do some minor custom work, and care about the trailer, then get him.
With the problems gone, he is a truly great figure. Just maybe still not quite $200+ worth of greatness.

Glue them back in if they break (barring spectacular mangling), and they'll probably be even sturdier than they used to be.

I'm not entirely sure why you carved so much plastic out of his back. You didn't need to do that at all. Just shave down the ridges on top of the canopy tabs.

On yours maybe. If they were all the same people wouldn't have problems.
Mine wouldn't fold in enough to latch no matter how much I filed the posts or fidgeted with the parts. I had to shave that area in the back too.
Its like when people say "Your Rodimus isn't broken, you just have to quit being afraid to apply some real force to make the backpack lock".
That's just not the case with some.

I really don't know why his feet didn't turn into the seats, that would have been an easy thing to do and i would like to see it done custom!

Bear in mind, though, then you'll only be getting the car; the Hasbro release isn't going to have the trailer.

Glad you managed to fix it (more or less) to your satisfaction, Uni!

Nicer job, miner had the same back pack problems until I shaved those tabs down too. Only o didn't shave tge chester piece or ther tabs down, so I'll see what that does fire mine now. What did you use to shave the center area down?

Ugh, had no idea there were so many problems with this mold, I thought it was the best MP to date. I'm just gonna wait for the hasbruh version.
