I DID A SEARCH FIRST. But if this has been reported, apologies.

Latest issue of Toyfare is the 10th Anniversary issue. They did a run down of the top hundred toys, and MP Prime took home top honors. Unicron was in there somewhere also--didn't buy the issue.

Anyways, no real suprise and it was well deserved, but big ups to Optimus.

I'd say it deserves it.....though I do like movie leader prime more personally. Either one of them could be in that spot IMO.

Yeah, there were a few others. I remember ML Soundwave for sure, and the Unicron, but I didn't go through the list that intensely.

Once they started collecting TTT in TPBs, I no longer had any reason to actually buy a Toyfare.

Only if you collect toys besides TFs. Otherwise all their news is "Welcome to Two Months Ago" compared to TFW2005. :D

Right? Toyfare's always kinda seems like an industry subsidized rag to me--just happens to pump the toys that happen to be related to the comics that happen to be in Wizard that happen to be from the publishers that spend a chunk of money on advertisments.

It's a waste of money if you actually want new information for TFs. News Staff here puts 'em to shame. SHAME!
Like I said, I didn't buy the magazine, and the issue is brand new, so it's not posted online yet. In a day or two, though, you should be able to get the list from their site.

Hard to believe at least one Yamato 1/48 didn't make the cut, though.

I'll probably be getting the mag soon enough, but is that "top 100" an 'all time' or 'this year' kinda thing? I ask since all the TF toys mentioned in the thread could've come from the last twelve months or so (if the MP Prime is MP-04 or DVD20th versions, that is)

1- a veritech is in there
2- the list is not just for this year evident from unicrons inclusion
3- ppl buy toyfare because it is the only mainstream publication which editorial backbone is toilet humor.

A few years back the MP Prime took #1 all-time greatest toy. I still have that issue somewhere. It's not surprising that it would still be #1. It is a great figure.

    I hate toyfare.

Most of the "content" is devoted to star wars & super hero shit.

Must be VERY slim pickings if Classics Devastator is in there. Yeesh. Also quite surprising that Classics Grimlock would be mentioned but not Bumblebee... or any of the Seekers for that matter.

Glad to see MP Prime still getting the accolades it deserves, though. To this day it's still (imo) the one Transformer that's as close to absolute toy/toon perfection as it can get.

Oddly enough, I personally consider the Classics Seekers all tied for the #2 spot in that category. Near perfect alt modes and more or less dead-on toon robot modes. Sometimes simple IS just better *hear that, MP Starscream?*

Yep, when I saw that list too, I was like WTF, Grimlock in my opinion, was one of the crappier figures from the classics line, and the Classics Devestator was a head scratcher also, at least one of the Seekers should have been on there but Prime as #1 is right.
