Very true. Though Animated is a good homage.

Mine? I don't even have it I just like to make people skip collector pieces with the hope that one day I'll find it cheaper due to less demands.

But now that I think about it, this time it was kind of pointless considering that I absolutely hate G1 Megatron (design and character), I should save my tricks to MP Grimlock or somethin'.

Animated any day, MP are to complex and easy to brake and meg's still has his stupid G1 mode made even worse buy the MP scale, do you really want and over sized hand gun taking up space on your shelf?

We're talking about two completely different animals here. MP Megs is just a stunning piece of design and engineering, and an amazing show piece. Animated Megs, while no slouch on the design part, has a lot less impressive engineering behind it because there's a lot more to work with with his alt mode. That being said, I'd say both! I've got both and am perfectly happy with them, for different reasons.

This sums it up quite well.
And I like this answer as well... as my MP Megs has taken a tumble or two (not quite as severe, but pretty good falls none the less). And every evil mastermind needs his goody-goody counterpart.

I think that animated Megatron actually looks cooler than MP its actually one of my most favorite TF that I own. MP, something about his head just doesn't look right (at least in the pictures i've seen), I might still get MP later on, I don't really know.

Oh and Animated Megatron works with the Headmaster from Bulkhead. Unfortunately, unlike Bulkhead, his voice doesn't change, he just wears it. Still, it's a neat feature.

If he's in the hands of clumsy people, or people who don't look after their toys, yes. Mine, however, has been transformed God knows how many times since I got him, and he's still in perfect condition.

Have 'em both, like 'em both. But Masterpiece Megatron is my absolute favorite figure ever.

    Animated all the way

MP is a piece of crap, he's fragile, flimsy, rare, expensive, hard to import and will most likely have a oragne plug...over all not worth it.

    QFT

My buddy saw MP Megatron and Animated Megatron in my display case (animated megatron came in a lot and I sold him the following week). He glanced at animated megatron, said it didn't really give him the right impression of how a megatron toy should look.

MP Megatron he stopped, stared for maybe 20 seconds, and said that it was the greatest Megatron he had ever seen.

Granted my buddy is a casual TF fan who grew up with G1....but there's no substitute for the iconic Megatron. I'd rather have a menacing MP figure than an animated any day of the week...you'll get far more challenge from the MP transformation, and a lot more (IMO) fun wielding a large gun than a gray helicopter.
