Yes, I have the tint on Megs' feet also and some parts were rusting or rusted. Kinda cheesed off...my first TF to experience "cosmic rust"!

Man, I'm puzzled...maybe Japanese TF fans keep all their Megatrons their boxes?! LOL!

Nah, they just wear rubber gloves, so none of the oil from their fingers get on it.

Checked mine and it's tip-top. Have him displayed on a glass shelf.

Mine hasn't rusted or tarnished, but just as bad: the chrome on his iron parts is sort of bubbling and flaking off. The same thing happened with my Ultra Jetstorm from a few years back, but Jetstorm took YEARS before he started flaking.

Mine has no rust, and I've had it soaking in a water tank for the past 2 months.
    Yeah, right.

Bad taste humor aside, my MP Megatron has no rust.

Rust: In the Eye of the Beholder?

Reading through these comments makes me wonder...are there some Megatrons out there are are actually rusted but the owners just aren't seeing it because they just have attention to detail? Kind of like the sellers on Ebay who say their item is "minty" when it's actually cracked, scuffed and worn?

And are there some Megs out there that aren't rusted but the owners are such perfectionists that the slightest little blemish is considered to be "completely rusted?"

What's next MP Starscream has lead paint? This really sucks. I'll have to check my Megatron when I get home.

Ok, that's pretty freakin' rusted. Mine, which I thought just looked tarnished, looks mint compared to that. Yikes!

I can already see someone selling replacement parts for Megs in a few months.

Also, the areas affected seem to be where condensation would form. Which leads me to believe this is all due to a humidity issue. Aside from the bad metal takara thought to use.

This concern already got me to install a dehumidifier in my basement and set to 50. This also apparently causes yellowing of figures and plastic bubbles for you MISB type people.

Crap! I plan on gettin me a Megs, but considering I'm in a basement apartment with humidity problems I may hold of a couple years until I'm living somewhere dryer.

    LOL! That's a good one!

Whoa! Your Meg's right foot is really bad...mine is similar to the left foot.

Completely my fault for the level of rust. Its already humid here, and I've practically left my window open all summer cause my cat likes to look out of the window. Of course, if I had known that would have been an issue earlier I would have been more careful.
