I've only taken mine out of the box twice and aside from the peg on the upper arm not always connecting he was fine. Worse comes to worse I'll just get something at the hardware store to remove it. Sucks for MISB collectors
I need to probably move mine off the carpet then and into the showcase, or back in the box *cringes* I never thought about something like this happening! I'll let you know what mine looks like tonight.
Damn it, mine's rusting on the feet and spine also! What a bunch of bullshit that something brand new starts rusting not even 6 months after its release.
If you store a figure in a tight case, can it still rust if it's hot enough? Does this only have to do with moisture attacking it? wouldn't i be trapping a little moisture inside the a figure if i were to encase him? I was thinking the macfarlane figure cases, but that might be too short for mp megs anyway..
I'm not sure if mine is rusting or not... it has an orangish coloration, but the metal wasnt pure chrome to begin with. It sorta looks like finger prints and some cloudy spots... the surrounding plastic doesnt look particularly dusty... I keep my room cold, but I have my ceiling light turned on fairly often...
Looks like I have more than enough reasons to not buy MP Skywarp until he's been out a year, to see how long HIS list of QC issues are. Seriously, rust?
I've never seen the zinc / aluminium alloy they make die-cast toys out of oxidise before. I wonder what the hell Takara have mixed in? Anyway it can't be rust unless there's iron mixed in.
I noticed it on some of the metal on mine a few days ago, seems to be oxidizing, luckily I also have a MISB one.
Unless MP-05's box is air-tight and vacuum-sealed, that shouldn't matter. Guess I'll be checking mine when I get home.
Sorry, couldn't find a bigger picture, but it seems fitting... *Megatron from the Episode "Cosmic Rust" for those who didn't catch it.
