Many great customs of the entries submitted to this Scourge Challenge have been uploaded today (I was surprised to see a full Sweep invasion upon logging in here this evening). Here's my entry to add to the ranks. It's made of the following: Gundam MG MS-18E Kemper Alt Sideswipe head Tom Servo's custom casted hands Random Gundam shoulderand foot parts pen caps Xevos legs Styrene sheet & rod a 1/100 scale Gundam MG MS-18E Kemper kit. I managed to put this together in time for the challenge simply because the Gundam kit is almost stock (chest/head/feet mods) and it's most definitely a shell-former. The entire hovercraft is scratch built. I went for the alt mode look in the Visual Works book, with all of the thrusters visible in the underside of the craft. Anyhow, I'd love to hear crits (my biggest one is the lack of a "collar" like the original - and a targetmaster would be nice too) and answer any questions. This isn't too hard to do so if anyone wants to try it I can give a more complete breakdown and some WIP shots. Enjoy.
This was one of my favorites from the contest, Jaf. I love the look and feel to it and it really makes me want to pick that kit up and do one on a larger scale sometime. Excellent work! This along with Spurt's and WJ's gave me a two-week long headache trying to figure out who to vote for. And it's great seeing more Sweeps join the party!
Yay more Sweeps!! Really really like this version, has this sleek fast look about it, yet that protruding chest gives it an aura of strength and power. Colour distrubution is fantastic, the blue, some black and white. Overall....it's just so freakin sexy!
Awesome, just awesome. I'm a bit biased, as much as I love Gundams, but the head sculpting to that Sideswipe head is awesome. Great job, sir.
This is just incredible JAF,everything is top notch but the alt mode is just off the charts. The fact that you Scratch built it is just insane. I never realised ther was a Sideswipe head in there thats crazy.
He needs a collar, and a targetmaster. JUST KIDDING! Seriously, he's sweet. Definitely a hunter vibe from him.
always a treat to see your work JAF. inspiring since I discovered that mp wheeljack back in the day. This is so awesome but the coolest thing to me is that it looks effortless. great job bro.
Awesome stuff man. I can spot a thing or two from the ingredients list, but other than that, I can't see the other stuff you listed....the workmanship is just that amazing Top shelf work JAF
Thanks. He is pretty seriously articulated (is that what you meant by nimble?), so I had fun posing this for the photos. That MP SS stand was indispensable. Thanks Josh! How was my choice of colors captain? Thanks B. sorry I gave you a headache Cause I have to try and keep up with you...you ninja. Thanks for the vote thyvipera! Seeing your Menasor collaboration blew me away and makes your vote even more of a compliment. Hi fives. Thanks lotussouljah, I was going for a sinister 'vampire' sort of power for this bash...hence the "coffin" transformation show. Heck, being a shell-former has it's evil advantages. Earl, the gundam thing had to happen with this bash. Scourge's illustrated incarnations are too round and curvy to resist using this Kemper kit. I'm psyched you like it. I did my best under the circumstances to disguise that Sideswipe head. Mwoohahaha, I tricked Spurt, the dood who gave me daily migraines trying to figure out what the hell his scourge was made of. Congrats my man. Haha, thanks Dormamu. Seeing the stuff you churn out is cause for celebration. If that old MP Wheeljack has done any good in this world, it's to have inspired the likes of you my friend. Hey are you saying I didn't put any effort into this? Thanks a million Eric, I need more contests to get my finishing stuff...when is the first Radicons challenge eh?!
This is still so fantastic, and I'd love to own a set of these as Sweeps next to Wheel_Jack's Cyclonus (and "Armada"!) right next to my MP Seekers . . . .
Awesome work! I wish they would give us a new Voyager or Ultra size Scourge, Glavatron, and Cyclonus.
