Here are some updated photos of a MP Jetfire I am working on. It is still a work in progress. It was made from a 1/48 Yamato VF-1S Hikaru with fastpack set from 1/48 Miria. There are no paint apps to the bot and the only thing painted on the fastpacks is the top covers of the FP and the arm piece. I found a krylon spay paint that matched perfect and it took less than an hour start to finish to do this thing.www.flickr.com/photos/23206458@N08/?saved=1

I will try to get some pics in jet mode next week. As far as cost it was not cheap. I purchased the VF-1S Hikaru specifically to make a MP Jetfire for $145 shipped. The fast packs were some from a VF-1J Miria that I already had purchased. I never used the fastpack armor on her so it was just lying in the box not being used. But I did have to pay $215 shipped for the VF-1J Miria w/ fastpacks. So in total it was over $350 but I also got a 1/48 VF-1J Miria figure that I wanted anyway for my small 1/48 Yamato collection. You can buy the figure and fast pack armor parts seperate for around $200 but you would have to paint the entire armor set which would be a lot more work, like I mentioned earlier the only thing I did was spray paint the top half of the fast packs and the arm pieces and apply 3 stickers. I didn't have to use tape to block anything out at all. I still have to add some black detailing but I will get to that later. Jetfire is one of my all time favorite G1 figures and characters I just had to have a MP Jetfire. For anyone who has not seen the 1/48 Yamatos in person you should as they make awesome display pieces. I have 7 of them now including this MP Jetfire.

That's pretty damn awesome. If I had the money I would absolutely do the same thing. Your paint apps on the armor & boosters look very clean, kudos.

    Awesome love there.

It'd be fun to see someone tackle this sometime and give Jetfire a new head too.

I am considering painting the eye visor red instead of the green that it is now. Not sure on that yet though. It is kind of a work in progress. I like the panel line idea but have never done that before. Do you use a fine point marker for that?

i recommend using a red chrome sticker, like from a piece of confetti or something, it will be less permanant and look much better. flat colours are not that nice.
