Playing around with Sketchup, and realised that the takara MP grimlock throne is an easy exercise.

    3D printed parts:

    Finished off with gunmetal:

Would have attached the .STL files for free but I think this site does not support file hosting...

This'll be great for people; if you've got a 3D printer of your own you could probably even sell these for a few bucks. I just figure that if I'm buying the King Grimlock figure anyway, an extra $20 for the throne isn't worth worrying about, but for everyone else it sucks.

Cool! Nice, simple design, and good execution!

Which 3D printer do you use?

I'm gonna have a bash at this. Would be cool to spruce it up a bit, the one being released is too plain.
GREAT WORK, and inspired me to get off my lazy but and do something.

Great work on this. Size is spot on. Grimmy looks like a true king.

Thanks. I did the work in SketchUp 2014, and basically learnt it from scratch in 2-3 hours.

Used the Makerbot Replicator 2 at 5% infil and quick option. Printing time is a bit slow, though.

Thinking about taking up the megatron throne for my next project, simply because the 3P company posted side and front profiles of their throne, which means its just an easy copy-and-extrude clicks away...
