    MP Blaster and Twincast DONE!

Kelvinchang commissioned me to do these over a month ago. I've finally gotten them up to where I'm comfortable showing them.

I was originally going to use real screening in the speaker screens, but it ended up being too bulky, so I created a texture by spraying through a screen.

I didn't even know who Twincast was before I started. He's the resurrected form of Blaster after he got kilt in Headmasters.

These guys are far from having their final paint jobs, but looking at my reference material again, I realize that I already need to repaint a few parts on Twincast!

Speakers on their shins- Mighty Putty tube caps!

(it's best that you ignore that stuff in his eye)
Here's the original mock up I did in paper.

    More to come!

It took me a little bit, but I think I figured out how to transform him. Its very ingenuitive, also that is a very creative way to conceal the feet :p .

I still have one question though, does the cassette door open? If so are you going to make any of blasters cassette bots? If the hatch does open, something creative you could do is make blasters sniper rifle transform into a cassette so that it stores somewhere on him :p

I am sure your commission will love it :D

Thank all you so much! These guys have been kicking my ass, so I'm realy glad that you like them!
Maloknazh- Well... he's not technically a scratch-build, since the underlying anatomy is still a mostly unaltered MP Prime. Ditto on the heads. I guess he's technically a re-shell. Aw heck, call him whatever you want! I'm just glad you like him!
The transformation took me a little while to work out. Figuring it out with a paper model was the only way I could do it. (Stiff card stock, actually.) The hard part was getting everything to fit properly and sit smooth in box 'mode. That's what really took some sweat.
Oh and the doors sure do open!

They can fit original tapes or the Classics Ravage. I don't have any plans to make the tapes just now. I have another plan for their guns, but making them tapes is a pretty good idea!
Thanks for looking and for the kind words everybody!
    I'll have updates soon.

The one on the left is my fave too. That's Twincast. I figure that getting killed and resurrected might have given him a snarkier sense of humor than the more light-hearted Blaster. I didn't intend it, but I think he looks a little like Denis Leary. (!)

Awesome work again, David! Glad to finally see you sharing these with the masses. Those heads look great, man! These are definitely shaping up nicely--now you need to do Soundwave and Soundblaster once these are complete. Keep up the great work, my friend!

You should make them functional - looks to be plenty of room to add a little MP3 player.

    WOW.
The way the speakers fold into the legs must have been difficult to make into reality.

    CRAZY!

Very G1, and always good to see Twincast gettin' love.

He's one of my 3-pre-retirement-projects that I'm finishing up (Actually did some work just yesterday!)

Great to see your stuff, as always!

Thank you all for your kind words.
Ok, now you're being silly! :)
Oh my god. I was really hoping to do some nice deluxe scale figures after these. But...
You can call me Dave by the way.
There's not as much room in there as it looks, but anything's possible.
Blaster's more fun at parties. Twincast does tend to go on about the cold loneliness of the grave when he has a few in him.
Thanks, but Kup would have way more history etched into his ugly mug. And maybe a stogie. (I got that idea from Wheeljack)
I've got the scars to prove it!
    Right back at ya.
Thanks man. I didn't even know who Twincast was before I got this gig, so I would have to agree with you on the lack of Twin-love. I'm glad that I could help fill the void!
Thanks again everybody! I'll be evening out horns and touching up handles and shins today, so I'll have more for you soon.
One more thing- I've discovered Plastidip Spray. It's a spray-on rubber coating. It's meant for tool handles and the like, but I'm adding it to these guy's feet so they can stand a little better. So far it's working great! I's good for "rubberizing" plastic tires too! It takes a few coats to build up a good layer, and each layer takes about a half hour to dry, but it's really good stuff.
    Check it out-
