Tonight, I got Masterpiece Megatron for a late Christmas present. I have to say, I do like Megatron as a figure, but WOW the whole time I was transforming him, I was scared to death I was going to break him. He has SOO many delicate moving parts it ridiculous. I finally got him into gun mode, and I'm going to keep him like that for a while, until I'm brave enough to transform him back into robot mode, and then I'm never transforming him again. LOL!
Yeah, he feels like he will break in two any second. Dyansis on Youtube managed to snap his in two, so it is possible.
I havent Transformed mine since I got him at release after watching that youtube video. He looks better as he is in Bot Mode.
Got mine a few weeks ago, and he transformed just fine. Sure, a few wibbly parts, but nothing serious. Much better then I thought too, but it only looks good in "Standing High and Mighty" poses, since it's pure shite at action poses (even Starscream had that!). Might sell him because of that, it's a real turnoff for me since I like to display my bots in massive fightscenes.
Yea, I got mine when they first came out, and he's yet to be out of bot mode for that very reason... and watching that YouTube video didn't encourage me any either. lol He is a nice peice though, and congrats
He takes a while--definitely more of a display piece than a "toy." But I love him. I can sit there and and transform him for an hour, and it just zens me out. Next up on your shopping list needs to be the accessory kit!
Actually I was also wondering, how do I remove the orange tip on the gun barrel? The orange tip on mine is slightly broken, and seems to be stuck. How did any of you remove it?
I don't own the figure myself (really want to pick him up..probably at SDCC this year), but is the plug in yours perhaps glued in? I know some retailers just put the plug in, but others (I've heard) glued it in.
As far as the rusting/tarnishing goes, does this affect the structural integrity of MP Megatron at all, or is it just cosmetic?
It's only cosmetic. CP, congrats on getting him! Now do yourself a massive favour and get the Justitoys upgrade set...!
Sweet. TheTransTorture is going to do a battle-damaged MP Megatron commission for me, so if there's any tarnish it'll just add to the effect.
I probably only get one TF a year (only have 8) and I've been on the fence about this one for a long long time. Maybe I'll bite soon before it's too late...
MP-05 is the kind of TF you have to beat up to really appreciate. I dont mean you have to toss him around the room when you get mad, but you definitely have to loosen some of those joints by twisting and turning him into different poses to really get past the whole "I hope he doesnt break" phase. Believe me, you'll enjoy him a lot more. Dont worry too much about the scratches. He's a big boy, he can take it.
