I think it's telling that price was an issue if the reason behind Hasbro Asia's cancellation of Dinobot is true.

 

Collectors in Asia (China, Hong Kong, Singapore) have much much deeper pockets than japan or the west. Hot Toys collectors alone attest to that. The Price of Dinobot is absolutely not the issue there.

Any reasons we can think of for the Hasbro Asia cancellation is pure speculation and nothing more. I personally believe Takara was trying to curb CAD design theft. Megatron was KOed within weeks of release. But Primal and Cheetor weren’t KOed so I’m not sure what to believe. I just know price really doesn’t seem to be a factor in the Asian market.

 

Sunstrearker (to the best of my knowledge) has not been KO'd yet either. Even if collectors in Asia do have deeper pocket, it isn't solely an issue of whether one can afford it. It is also whether or not one values an item at the price it is being offered at.

 

I hope we eventually get to know the reason. The typical Iron Curtain with Takara can really make us all ponder just what the hell they're thinking sometimes haha
