admittedly I've always been somewhat "meh" on the BW MP. There's were always (very understandable) compromises made in order to achieve the transformation and I've always felt that the beast modes always took it on the chin. I do think the methods were fair and results were good given how impossible it would be to get a clean beast mode, but it was always more of a feeling of "I guess this is the best that can realistically/reasonably be done" as opposed to feeling that it was an unqualified success.

This guy though, doesn't look like there have been any compromises at all. Sure there are unavoidable panel lines and some weirdness with the dino thighs, but credit where credit is due, this is an amazing execution, even before adding the "it's so hard to get a beast mode right" qualifier. It's a 110% execution.

BUT. I do have one pretty legit nitpick. It looks like the dino arms have a rotation (maybe ball?) joint at the shoulder and a bicep swivel. Frankly it's disappointing that such an easily workable miss occurred by not adding a dino elbow joint and wrist joint. MP-8's dino arm articulation is a big part of what made posing his alt mode fun (the hips/legs are also surprisingly good). Given a lack of general posability in a big hulking T-Rex body, this simple omission is a bummer. The other BW MP's have all had extremely expressive articulation.

MP-8's dino arms, even at the toy's slightly smaller scale (just assuming, since he's shorter than MP-10, while Megatron here should be on par), are quite a bit longer.

The more I look at this guy, the more it seems like his back kibble might be asymmetrical.

I think that’s just down to the way it’s been arranged by whoever posed the figure. There are a lot of moving parts that appear to be able to slide up, down or swing towards or away from his back on those branches. Hopefully the joints are strong or else we’ll be knocking those back panels out of alignment every time we move him.
This shot shows the back kibble best and it looks completely symmetrical.

Thanks for posting that particular picture again. I think you're right! I was staring at the magazine scans for too long, hehe.
Do hope they tab in securely, but looking at the other BW MPs I don't think we'll have anything to worry about.

Yay, so friggin excited for this gorgeous release!

Agreed- really hope that they tab together securely rather than being free floating

Yeah, I figured the back wouldn't be flush, and expectation was worse than MP-36. But I dunno, looks great to me. I don't pose from the back and never complained about Mp-36 Megs' back.

Other have discussed the Rubber Ducky, but as for the Golden Disk, they probably would give it to a MP BW Transmetal Megatron (if they ever do one PLEASE!!!!) as he used it specifically in that form, and they would make it be able to attach to his tail weapon and spin. Thinking about it, I wonder if they would make a Golden Disk fragment as well that could plug into his tail weapon?
Yeah, it was confirmed that his eyes are posable.
I believe MP BW Megatron is actually taller than MP-10!

If so , that’s just wrong on so many levels. Scale be dammed.

Scale? If it was anywhere near scale-accurate megatron would be the size of a golfball compared to mp-10 FYI :)

Yeah this worries me quite a bit, the other releases tab together nicely but looking at the images Megatron's backpack just seems to 'hang there'. I really hope it tabs down solidly, I don't want it flopping about or coming out of line whilst handling him.

I understand the scale issue. No doubt . But to be taller then a flagship figure is just awkward...

I don't think that really excuses not having a hinge at both the elbow and the wrist. People keep talking about how Megs is less complex than Dinobot, adding 4 parts and simple back and forth hinges (or even a ball at the wrist) doesn't seem like an unreasonable but very real improvement.

Would need an auto transforming trailer, of course. Should only cost a few thousand. That's fine, right?

But yes, MP Armada Prime would be great!

Eh, I see it as largely superfluous. If anything, I'd make a case for finger joints, since that's mostly what Megatron gestured with in Rex mode. Otherwise he'd just flap his little arms around in much the same way this toy will be able to do.

Well these Beast Wars Masterpiece figures aren't made to scale with the G1 Masterpieces, they're made to scale with each other. And they are.
I guess it depends on how much of their budget they used already for this figure.

I know.....I’m just stating my opinion . I guess we’ll find out his size once in hand.
