If you wanna try that risk, it is up to you, but I will never buy MP release from US again. And pay $100 more.

It will never sell well at that price. On the good part, it will be on sale soon after :)

Hastak is really thinking they are selling gold, and gold is dropping rapidly in value....

Maybe I have been pretty lucky, but the MPs that I have purchased from Hasbro have not had QC issues. Likewise, besides 2 specific figures (Hot Rod V2, Cheetor), none of my Takara MPs have had significant QC issues.

As has been documented on here, the MPs are produced in identical factories. The Takara > Hasbro thing for QC is a myth

I have only Soundwave, Acid Storm and Starscream and Soundwave was disappointment for me.

On Hasbro seekers is used different materials, several plastic parts instead metal from TT.

Well, that will maybe not the case of BW Megatron, but I am not gonna try it.

In this day and age I do not understand why folks don't order from AmiAmi or even HLJ. Before shipping it's 83 bucks cheaper than BBTS!

Which parts were replaced by plastic? Curious as this is the first time I am hearing of this?

That price is still brutal but there's not much they can do if Takara is charging them an arm and a leg to even stock it. Hell, if they're serving as an importer to get them on shelves there's costs involved there as well.

Hopefully this thing finds a way to US market anyway...like Primal and Megatron on Amazon where it could last long enough to go into a discount or something. I can dream.

How can wholesale be $240 US when Japanese retailers are selling it for that price retail?

Japanese etailers sell it at 30% off for preorders and depending on demand, keep it or raises the price. Nobody pays MSRP in Japan. You can probably find better from the Yahoo smaller electronic stores if you're there. When I was there Ratchet was 8500 yen on the shelf not the 10000 MSRP. Its no different then buying a car and seeing the MSRP and a lower Dealers price.

Its Hasbro Asia product with a Hasbro USA sticker on it. They did the same thing with Prowl at EE, and the movie MPs at TRU

Yes. But that is not Wholesale as the poster is mentioning. Wholesale price is the price manufacturers sell goods to the retailers.

A $320 US release makes no sense.

I agree that is a tough sell here. I would love to see per unit cost to manufacture and package MP BW Megs just to see how much of a markup is going on with him. if it is percentage wise no more than other MPs i think TT went too far and should have cut the electronics as even with out them this would still be a magnificent figure.

I guess the whole sale price would be less than that then, as they have to make a profit off of the discounted price. Domestic stores dont deal with Takara so they would probably pay more going through a japanese distributor. Thats why Im confused about the price if its coming directly through Hasbro, there are no middle men, to inflate the price it should be at worst the discounted 30% price.

For $300 including shipping, you can get the three foot tall transforming MP-10 that has die-cast smokestacks bigger than MP carbots.

That really makes MP-43 seem ridiculous.
