You make a fine point there. Granted, the 5 piece gestalts (Defensor, Superion, etc.) were more stable, but I never liked the fact that there was one full sized figure, and then a bunch of midgets. Plus, it would be hard to hold the sense of scale with most 5 piece sets. The Predacons would be cool though.

Thats not completely true.. There were no articles, just a few emails from a few select US online toystores that sent out a newsletter letting thier customers know they were not going to import megatron due to US laws( bigbadtoystore) but there were still plenty others who imported him over, I got 2 regular reissues and the limited black one from Imageanime.com as soon as they were released.

Because the toy was so horrible, I try not to remember Galvatron in the G1 sense, but you make a good point. With a major facelift that could be a good idea. Especially is MP-03 Starscream comes with a fitted crown.

Bring on the ridiculously oversized Megatron. Looking at the majority of the wish lists here it seems like a smart choice for a silly idea. Takaratomy can revel in the 'flack' that will provide them with invaluable free promotion. :thumb
There's nothing wrong with a Galvatron either.

    My top 5 favourite choices:

    1) Megatron (g2 vehicular mode but g1 robot mode)
    2) Galvatron
    3) Rodimus Prime
    4) Ultra Magnus
    5) Soundwave

    Gotta go with Grimlock

Give him a T-rex mode that's updated for how we know the dinosaur was. No more tail dragging, chubby looking thing. Lithe, muscular, still big as hell.....an updated dino head that is the right size proportionatly.

That would rock SO HARD. I'm not sure how they'd do the legs....they shouldn't stick out so far on the sides of the figure...but they have to look big and bulgey for the robot mode cuz that's just....kinda grimmy's trademark.

Then give us Slag. I'd kill for a good looking triceratops figure.

And I wouldn't want them to look beast-wars transmetal-esque. Make them look G1...just updated for dinosaur proportions.

Gotta take care of the big guys first. Megatron should be up next. They have to do him as gun to robot. The whole point of MP is to recreate the original G1 toy and make it show accurate. If they do Megatron he's gotta be a gun, no tank! I think it would be really interesting to see how they pull off a gun that transforms into a show accurate robot mode. As for Thundercracker and Skwarp those are bound to show up down the line simple recolors and no retooling.

oh heyyyy. I LIKE THAT. MP-5 Megatron.......VERY interesting....

Haven't seen it said yet.....but I figured I should at least mention him....

What about Dinobot? He's arguably the most important, fleshed out, heroic character from beast wars. His velociraptor mode in the original toy....well....it sucked. But he looks bad ass as a robot. They COULD go and do something surprizing and give him a really realistic re-make....a great looking velociraptor (maybe give him a feathered crest too) with a kick ass robot form....

If they're going for repaints, Inferno might be a good choice. He can easily be retooled into Grapple. I'd buy at least Inferno....

I have to disagree. At the time I was managing a chain bookstore with a heavy international news section. I was reading daily editions for almost every English newspaper and saw several articles. They were smaller, regional publications, but the articles were written.

VW will never license out their cars to Takara/Tomy/Hasbro. They don't want to associate with what they call "conflict-centric toys" because it is an uncomfortable reminder of the company's beginnings.

Again, not a G1 figure. There is no reason to assume that they want to deviate from the G1 consistency.

Victory Saber. Fully articulated. Detailed. Yes.....

If they do any other seekers, I'll wait for the Hasbro versions. Starscream... I want from the start.

Perfect opportunity for Jetfire/Skyfire. Heck they could just toss Yamato's 1/48 Hikaru VF-1s in a box and call it MP-4 ;)
