Hmm quite gappy in alt mode, hopefully it's just the zoomediness that's making it look worse than it is...

Wow looks pretty ingenious how the front windscreen rotates around to his back. It looks pretty involved but at the same time quite straight-forward.

LOL, you know that observation won't fly. Some one will have to sacrifice a Sideswipe and their Sunstreaker for the parts increase to be verified and counted....and it better be substantially more, then people on this board might actually believe it.:D
I'm all for the more complex figures as the price doesnt bother me, Im willing to pay for what I want. As adults we spend more money on things we really don't want to buy, Ive got no problem spending it on something I do want to. I just don't want the trade off to be this even slower release rate. It kind of defeats the purpose of making great stuff and then having to wait 8 or 9 months for the next one.

Well if somebody truly wants to do this and share the results with us – that’s fine. ;)  . I’m surely no expert in designing and producing transforming toys, but seeing the amount of moving parts in the transformation sequence (compering to MP Lambor) is enough to convince me at this moment. I believe that when I finally get it, the feeling while messing with it will only confirm that even without actually counting parts. If not – I will share this experience with you, admitting that I was wrong in terms of parts count :)

I’m 100% with you on this! However I believe that the slower release rate is not actually due to complexity of the figures, but the fact that Takara introduced new Transformers Worlds to the Masterpiece line (like Movieverse and Best Wars). So even though they actually release more new MP molds then 2 or 3 years ago, as a G1 fan I feel like the release rate has slowed down.

Awesome!! Boy I’d love a translation of that!

Still no alt mode pics with Sideswipe yet though.

Pretty cool, too bad there's a lot of paneling. Still good though.

Pure magic! Only negative I could point to is that his alt mode seems a little gappy, but we've seen this before in promo shots of prototypes only to have the actual production pieces a bit more seamless in hand. Besides, the MP-12 mold is already one of the gappiest alts in the line and it is well loved! And there's no doubt this figure is next level, in league with Megatron. Can't wait for a Jazz, Mirage, and Hound on par with this guy!

I don't want to wish time away, especially around the holidays, but I cannot wait! Hard to believe our last deluxe sized carbot, Hot Rod, was over a year and a half ago! Bout time ;)

If a butt is grabbing your eye,you need to see a doctor, and seek help may I add, as you may get pink eye.

Definitely not gonna be the same size as Sideswipe in car mode. There's no reason on god's green earth to not show them side by side unless they had something to hide.

He looks great, but I’m happy to be sticking with my Sunsurge. This guy just does not fit in with my collection.

    Also, that buttflap. Yikes.

I'm still looking forward to it and I think it looks good overall, but it looks a bit gappy, and the rear of the vehicle is atrocious.

I really wish they'd put Hasui and some of the other more experienced designers like Hisashi Yuki back onto the Masterpiece line. Instead, they're pushing forward with this whole "new, younger design team" stuff, which is great, but it'd be a better idea to put them on the mainline stuff that is simpler in general anyway.
And maybe put Kobayashi back on mainline stuff because he keeps fucking around with the Masterpiece line. He's kind of like the Jonny Ive of Transformers.

You saw the bot mode comparison shots I posted a few pages back showing car parts look like the same size?
