I think he couldn't figure it out and I thought I saw later he corrected that video or created another? Its been awhile but I've seen him do that before.

If you have any doubts, check out Bots N Bits and whoever else pops up when you use google. To be honest, I wouldn't rely on just BC alone and not because he isn't good or anything but you'll find out that one sample isn't enough to judge a figure when it comes to KO's and in some cases, 3P and official.

Somewhere I suspect there probably is but I do know Ben has three (IT, THF and a pure KO IIRC) in his review. The absolute basics is that THF is more G1 toy accurate and IT is an improved version of MP36 with the V1 release coming with a back plate that covers the kibble. V2 will not include the back plate but I believe ModFans is making a back plate / cannon with purple LED combo.

 

There was also the MagTen version in a metallic silver paint with red inner calves I think?

And the modfans cannon/plate for IT is available and shipping now . Mines on its way from Show.Z store and should arrive next week.

 

Ah, I knew the ModFans set was almost ready to head out the door. I thought it had ran into a fitment issue but because I have a V1 IT I didn't follow the ModFans kit too closely.

 

Use rubbing alcohol, just don't over do it. Clear it with a gloss lacquer finish. You won't regret it.

I have IT, and can happily confirm it most definitely DOES have the ab crunch!
Btw It's also a PHENOMENAL FIGURE!!!
I strongly suggest folks google IT-01 Megatron (and the other versions), and spend some time watching the review videos, particularly the comparison ones (Toy Dojo has a couple of excellent ones that compare MP36, IT-01, THF, and Magten).
It may help you decide what you like, and which extra features you prefer.
If you want to be able to recreate the G1 toy as an MP, then THF is a great choice (has some other great extras too).
For a more metallic Megatron, Magten seems a good way to go.
In my case, I was primarily after toon accuracy (more grey coloured), so I went with IT (I also preferred it's extra features, price, and build quality).

It really is an amazing figure at a terrific price.... Even at the usual $95-ish price point. Much better quality than the official and the back cover, better joints, Kremzeeks, and that vastly improved cannon... I like the color and finish on the official slightly better, but the trade off to not have chipping paint is well worth it.

 

Better quality yet cheaper priced than the official.

 

I'm debating getting the THF clear version, it would go with the clear Quakewave i got yesterday...I already have the IT Megatron...
