It was pretty popular when it came out. I’m not surprised.

 

32% puts it at $51 before shipping. Thats pretty much the avg for Transformers. It gets up to 34-37% most of the time so this should end up under or at 60 shipped depending on conversion.

The trick is to ship it with something, as they will split the combined shipping cost in half and ship things separate sometimes. So mp 12+ and MP 39 were 1600 yen together, Swipe got shipped at release and was 800 yen. So I still got him at release but 400 yen cheaper than if I ordered him solo. Lately though the MP releases have been spread so far out its hard to combine them.

 

Hmm, I'm seeing it as ￥ 9,180, which is $82, when it comes directly from Amazon.

 

From Amazon JP itself is ¥9180/$82.42. I just emailed the cheaper guys to see if they'll ship out here. LA's only 50 miles from me so we're in the same boat.

 

But... Sunstreaker is just yellow.   MP-20+ has more deco details on him than MP-39 does? I could see it looking bland next to MP Exhaust or MP Smokescreen, but a character who's basically yellow, with a chrome engine block. May as well say it will look bland next to Sideswipe, who's... all red?
It's all good though mate, we all like what we like, and the all white deco is a little challenging to the senses after the busy Alitalia branding.

This deco is actually growing on me. More shots of the alt mode make it see like it may just work. I may end up picking up a cheap MP-20 KO and maybe swapping the rear 3/4 panels with the Alitalia logo and the green around the wheel arch, to add some extra colour, as they're pretty much hidden in bot mode. But I may just leave as is.

 

Nice! I'm having a hang up at the moment with the cheaper rates. How'd you get around the invalid shipping address issue?

True. I got MP-36 for $160 when MP-10B was re-released. I just got one from HLJ. I'll keep an eye open for Amazon Japan.

In actual fact I DO think MP-20+ would look plain next to MP-12. The one-tone colour scheme suits the lambos just fine. And with Sunstreaker he has the chrome detailing like you said.
This design just does not lend itself well to an all white colour scheme. All IMO of course. I can see that some others out there are loving it. Just not for this little black duck - probably the most passable MP offering produced so far. And I say that as a huge Wheeljack fan.

 

His arms and thighs still look kinda black to me. Will prefer a lighter shade of grey. :/

 

Yeah I'm still not cler on that. Some pics look black, some look a dark grey.
I'm gonna guess (ie: hope) that Takara does it properly as his animation character sheet is pretty clear on the grey, as opopsed to say Prowl's black.

 

These latest pics just cement my preorder for WJ! This will be the first MP+ that I will buy, breaking my one mold per character rule, the nonplus will stay in vehicle mode, while the new one will be in bot mode. I may repaint WJ+ forearm guards grey/black to match, wipe out the orange rear light off, but leave the spoiler white to better match the toon, I'm not going to display him in car mode anyways so I don't care if it looks dumb in car mode. In the end, if I may even remove the spoiler altogether.

 

Just put a white crayon next to a yellow one.
